Cutting out, spitting popping. Can a cherry bomb go bad???

OK i'll start with what ive done, recently replaced the fuel filter, spark plug, adjusted valves, and changed coolant. It was NOT running bad at this time, it was kinda choppy sounding at 1/4 to 1/2 throttle, but not like this.

So ive had the tank and plastics off numerous times in the past couple months. Hopefully i didnt screw something up, ive looked over connectors and hoses multiple times.

The most recent thing ive done is the valves, i did it a couple weeks ago. buzzed it down my road and ran fine. Past couple days it's been running like CRAP!

It lugs on idle, barely stays running. Cuts out really bad on accel, and will usually die. Sounds like its starving for fuel, or getting waaay too much, No fugging clue.

But i was wondering, do cherry bombs go bad? Could it be that it just crapped out me?

if i can get it fixed, im strongly thinking of selling it and getting a 450r.

shiftx, i actually tried to get the injector off, but the two phillips screws are so damn tight, the head just strips and wont even budge. and where is the tps? i have a service manual, but its a d/l on my computer, and it is a pain to find what im lookin for

May I also add a good quality #2 phillips. Don't buy a pos. It will come loose. Squirt a little wd40 on it if need be.

use a soldering gun to heat the screw to help with any loctite and an impactdriver.

Shift... What do you want for that throttle body nut? I can't see myself buying one from yosh with there outrages shipping cost for that item.

if the screws weren't so soft, it wouldn't be a problem. but they are like butter, every thing i tried just started eating into it, so i stopped before i completely ruined it

and i used a muiltmeter on my cherrybomb, assuming i did it correctly, it is good. it read 98.7

if i do by some miracle get the injector out, what do you recommend for cleaning? just blow it our or what?

I put a clear tube on the end of the injector about 10" long, fill it with 2+2, stick an air compressor nozzle to the end, yen hit the injector with a 9v battery. You'll hear it click at which point you hit the compressed air and it'll backfeed it good and rinse it out. Do it a few times and you should be good.

Just be careful, do it outside obviously and watch for little sparks, shits flammable. And don't leave the injector open too long at one shot Someone on here has mentioned it could over heat it.

You'll have to rig up some contacts to come outta the injector to touch the battery too. After a few times I figured I could cut an injector plug from a spare harness I had, strip the ends and that's what I now use.

When you're all done just spray the outside of everything down before assembly. And reassemble!

Them screws are shoulder bolts, you will need replacements if they're as bad as you say they are. May have to order them oem.

well, took the tank and fuel pump back off, drained all gas, sprayed a little air through all the fuel lines, and fuel pump. tried to take the pump apart to check the filter, but one of the screws is fucked just like with the injector. the pump and fuel lines looked like water coming out, it was clearer than gas should be. then ditched the fuel filter and got an inline from oriellys, as of now it runnin good. doesnt die, not spittin and poppin. hopefully can get a ride in and see how it does. think i might still buy a fuel pump off ebay tho
