I am thinking about getting a yoshi full pipe off a guy on here and Im wondering one thing...Can I put the pipe on, plug in my cherry bomb(when it gets here) take the airbox lid off, and be completely fine? If I need to buy one of those "map" things then forget it, I will just remove the pea-shooter from the stock pipe, and ride it like that. For those of you that had the stock pipe(when you first bought it obviously) and have since put on a yoshi, is there a real difference or not? If removing the pea shooter will give it the same sound and SOMEWHAT the same gains in power, I will just keep my money, and spend it on other goodies for it(nerfs,bars,bumper...) Thanks a lot guys, I just dont want to waste my money!

Youll be fine until you make a better intake. I was fine for a while with the stock intake but after i put a k&n on and took out the airbox it made it really lean. Alot more airflow going through.

so you guys are ABSOLUTELY POSITIVE that I will be fine putting on the full yoshi pipe, removing the airbox lid and adding my cherry bomb? I did a search(typed in yoshi pipe) and a lot of thing came up saying it runs too lean. So I dont really know what to do now. I really dont feel like spending 450 on a full yoshi pipe, then putting out another 200 or so on one of those fuel map things. Another question is this : how would the bike run if I put the full pipe on, plugged the cherry bomb in but left the airbox lid ON, would it run fine or not?

Wallace, $50 says it is just fine with a full yoshi and lid off with the CB. That's how much the dyno run cost me to prove it :)

It will be fat with the lid on.......

ok awesome...guess I will be buying a pipe off this site real soon! Hopefully one comes up fairly cheap. I am going to go with the rs-5 full system---aluminum, dont feel like spending 175$ more for titanium. Anything else I should look for when buying/installing this pipe? any tips would be greatly appreciated.

You can read the A/f on the Yoshi dyno run and see it is PERFECT with cherry bomb, no lid and full pipe. You might want to wait to buy a pipe until all of the pipes are tested. Hope to have all info up tuesday or so......

well I am looking to buy very soon, but if your going to have all the pipes tested by tuesday, I guess I will wait till then. To tell you the truth though, just the looks of the yoshi pretty much makes me wanna buy it. The dmc one is also nice. I cant beleive aftermarket companies like hmf, frf, big gun etc.. all went with the normal shape like on a yfz and so on..they should all make there pipes like the yoshi and the dmc, how there oval shaped, looks awesome to me.

All you need is a cherry bomb. I just got my complete titanium RS5 system and guess what Yoshimura included with it? A cherry bomb! So according to them, that is all you need. And after running my quad today I can confirm that it runs just fine with only a cherry bomb (I also have a Pro Design kit and have cut out the left side of my airbox).

so how did it run cyberjwalk? compared to stock? think its worth spending 500$ on it or what(im getting the aluminum one) I will be removing the pea-shooter this weekend and plugging in the cherry bomb, so if it sounds better and is a lot faster, I might not even want the pipe anymore. So I guess we will see after this weekend! Thanks a lot for all the responces though guys, this site REALLY helps me out with everything.

Yes, it does sound a lot better without the pea shooter but sounds even better with the RS5 (a more "tuned" and "throaty" sound). The combination of a better breathing airbox, the cherry bomb, and an aftermarket exhaust as a whole does make the bike a lot faster but without at least a good slip on your missing out on around 3 horses and the chance to shed about 3 pounds as well. If you really want to be fast, a slip is a must have!

Shedding weight off your bike by stripping off items you don't need and switching to lighter weight parts will make as much difference as adding a cherry bomb or pipe on the bike. Forget the ITP's (haulers/blue labels baby), nerf bars, heel guards, parking brake, etc. and lighten up the LT. You will feel the difference and will be faster as well. And don't forget to play with your sprockets. That can make as much of a difference as anything else you do to your bike! For dune riding I've found a 13 tooth front and a 38 rear to be the perfect combination after trying out several different combinations.

ok, well Im pretty sure im going to buy a yoshi full pipe very soon then! When I bought my atv, the dealer told me to dealer to pea-shooter in for the first 10 hours. I knew that was complete bullshit, and I could take it out as soon as I bought it, but my dad didnt think the same. He wont let me take it out until 10 hours it up(which is rite now, so im taking the pea-shooter out tonight) My quad backfires quite a bit with the pea-shooter in, so im thinking its pretty much meant to take the pea-shooter out. I will tell you guys what I think of it when I get back from riding this weekend.

Yep the pea shooter restricts it so much and try taking off the airlid and put a twin air filter on. I rode my quad with the pea shooter for about a hr, then took that off and also removed the airbox lid, it performs alot better, and now i just put on a TwinAIR and it sounds alittle deeper and feels like it adds a really small amount of bottom. I haven't put a cherry bomb on and it runs fine.
