From what I've been hearing they might be releasing two versions of the YFZ with the second one to have a wider suspension design along with EFI and a few other changes. But I've heard that the new version may be a mid model year release so you may have to wait a little while for the LT beater edition. But the regular 07 has a new "ring" to it as well. Just what I've been hearing and you should be seeing some pics and talk about it here on the internet within a day or so and its being displayed in Vegas as we speak......

EFI is a definate, but an aluminum frame is probably not a option. Also don't forget Yamaha might even come out with a full race version of the YFZ450, but then people would not like getting bigger tires and spending more money for smaller a-arms.

My opinion? FI? most likely BUT...remember that the Suzuki isn't just a 400 bored out with EFI strapped to it. It's a whole new bike from the ground up so I think that Yamaha will still be at a slight disadvantage if they are just going to strap EFI on the 450 and push it out the door. The Suzuki's whole engine design was around getting that crank low in the pan to lower the center of gravity. So Yamaha would really have to start from ground zero to punch out something totally new...I still think everyone will be playing catch up for another year..

Not saying Yamaha isn't a fine machine because it is...I just think that it's gonna take more of a development plan than "Oh crap...hurry up and get something out there to match up".

Which might explain why Honda isn't introducing theirs...maybe they are still in development? Hmmm...food for thought?

Now if Yamaha HAS been in development behind the scenes for some time? I bet it's gonna be some ass kicking machine that will make us all wish we waited...

Then again, you can never be on top for too long...can you? :p

did you guys also see the crap on that page saying that the 700 raptor and the 450 were quads of the year for 2006....what is that all about????

it says the other companies are farther behind...looks like yamaha paid off another happy customer...

I thought Honda would've paid a magazine to say the TRX is the quad of the since they pay so much money to get people to race for them.

Someone may need to help me with my spanish BUT...from what I read in that article it said "No major changes"...the last page description of this year versus last year is (I think)
1. New aluminum handlebars (Always thought they were?)
2. Rear brake is now vented and stronger
3. Seat is softer
4. Blue and silver or DARK GREY (not black) and red chassis
5. New forward brake and clutch levers
6. New stickers
Doesn't sound like an aluminum frame OR EFI to me... :p

If that is indeed a 2007 YFZ450, and they dont release a differant american version. There is no EFi on that bike. You can see the carb on one of te photos. Also the bars say Protaper on them in one of the photos? Kinda weird.

why is this any surprise? the big four (honda, suzuki, kawi, yamaha) almost always update their main racing machines every two years, just like their sportbikes. They wouldn't make any money if they updated their bikes every year. Dealers would refuse to get stuck with outdated bikes year after year and would stop selling their products. Simple as that.

Very true, but when the competition releases a machine equipped with a feature that has as much hype around it as FI; alot of people are going to question whether they add it or not. Would not have surprised me one bit to see them avoid the rule this year to keep up with market changes, but I guess this isn't a total kick in the teeth either. I guess it's still a possibility for this year with Yamaha, but I'm not going to hold my breath.

I noticed the pro-taper sticker on the bars as well Fuel...kind of an interesting change
