I know not eveyone is a Duner on here...bu feel free to post the reason u MX or XC what ever..here is my reason that i dune


I dune because...its where my family used to go, when it was a family... Glamis is my life. And i go there to live. It is what has kept me alive all these miserable years. I love Glamis. It is so relaxing...I remember when i was a kid playing in the sand in the dark. I would zone out...like out of my body and just feel like... "am i really here?" It was such a great feeling...like i was in heaven. Thats why.

I dune because it's the perfect place to have fun with our whole family...

To teach them to ride and just generally hangout with them...

And it's a LOT safer than trail riding with them... no trees to worry about or obstacles in the path or whatever.

For myself personally I like to challenge myself a little on each ride... If I see something that scares me I go try it. Just because it scared me a little...

I dune cause it's where I get to unwind and just have fun. There no worries out there. I like the feelin of being all alone with your thoughts in your helmet. Even though your concentrating on riding your mind still wonders a little bit. I also like the challenge like 764 said, it's fun to push yourself and your bike to see just how hard you can go at it. And I also really like hanging out at night BS'n and having some beers with your friends after a nice day of riding.

I dune it up...Cuz well..It just kicks ass PLAIN and SIMPLE..
You can open it up WOT and then just cruise..I love night riding and sitting on top of a Razorback and just watching the lights light up the night time sky. What's better then that...Then cruising the sandhighway wrapped full of beads tossing them out to chicks that show BOOBIES muhahahahaah....I love it

I dune because of the fredom, go any where your quad can take you. There is no determined destination and no signs telling you to stay on the trails (YET). I love the jumps in the dunes too. Sometimes I enjoy just sitting around and watching my wife and 8 year old boy tearing it up. DUNES RULE!!

To get closer to my kids...I mean I have fun to be sure but...it's all about them when we go...I love to watch them ride and grow with their skills...and the dunes is the best place...so much freedom... especially on a off weekend...wide open and no one around....breath taking actually...and thats why I dune..

im more of the XC and MX type person. i love the feeling of flying in the air or through the trees. i guess its just more personall prefference, but nothing in the world feels better to me then hitting a section of whoops, or nailing a double...

there's lotsa whoops and if you ride the dunes out here going north (basically the uphill direction) you can hit over a hundred jumps before reaching the other end... I kid you not. it's a jumpers paradise with a much, much softer and more forgiving landing...

i totally forgot thats why i ride. my mind is clear and absent of all the normal everyday stuff. i have only been to the dunes twice. first time in 98 at pismo on a rented quad and helmet. the quad truly sucked and the helmet mouth part was attached like the visor. i hit a witches eye busted my chin open and dang near knocked myself out ouch cut me open to. didnt discourage me though. and last year took the trx and blew it up on the first day and spent the next 4 days drinking with the homies. soon very soon i will be at some dunes with the ltr. hopefully Glamis on the 30th.

I ride dunes because its literally the funnest place on earth! I usually have so much crap on my mind and so much going on but when im riding its all gone. I have been riding a long time and ridden lots of places but nowhere is it as awesome as the dunes. The speed is amazing, but at the same time it can get very technical with many wide open to grabbing a handfull of brakes the very next second. When i ride at 100% thats when i feel the best my heart is pumping, i got my ipod playing away and its pinned 99% of the time. It feels so good he he almost too good it excites me! ha ha jk!

But yea i love the dunes I will always ride the dunes they are the best and if anyone hasnt ridden the dunes before i strongly suggest you try it, especially if you can ride Glamis, theres no place else like it!

Well I'm mostly a rec and trail rider. I only live about 4 hours from any major dunes but I've only been to ogalby once and that was last year at new years with a friend who was finally able to convince me that it would be worth the drive. I had such a good time out there, I freaked a little at first because of the sheer size of these bowls and other things but all in all it was worth the drive. I have never seen so many people packed into so many areas all enjoying the same thing, it was like going disneyland, the only difference being there was no mickey or donald, but the other attractions like: long travel whips, drag bikes, mx bikes, rhinos, golf carts, big trucks, shooting the shit with friends, eating and hanging out and not to mention those expensive ass toy haulers. Man that alone is motivation enuff to head back out there this season. All I need now is some new riding buddies! I'd much rather park out at the hill and watch people race then ride, its just relaxing for me.

You guys planning an overnighter for halloween? I dont think we'll be going for Halloween...havent worked on the rail, and my banshee needs a new rear shock and sprocket...my lt-r is basicly the only one ready... just need paddles. We are for sure going thanksgiving though

Now I'll answer the question... The reason I dune is because it is the funnest I've ever had on a quad. I've grown up riding in the desert. I've raced MX about 10 years, 3 years at the local pro level. I've been to the Cinders all my life. But, there is NOT anything like riding in the dunes. As all of you know, it is very hard to explain to the average Joe. Riding, watching, hanging, meeting new people...I LOVE THE DUNES!

Well ill be out there on October 20-22. We are actually planning a big thing out in Glamis that weekend. The company i work for (Pro Armor) is putting it together and we are in touch with a bunch of other companies to try to make it a big fun weekend. We will have flyers for the upcoming sand sports show, and once we have all the details ill post them for everyone to come. I know its the weekend before holloween but we are hoping to draw a big crowd of people just wanting to ride and have fun....Ill keep everyone posted.....

Oh and im going out again for holloween, its the big weekend i like to go...i dont go for thanksgiving anymore, dont care for the atmosphere during that time....

Junkie yes we need to get back out there in a couple of weeks or something! IM dying to go back out!!!
