I was just wondering what oil most people run.... I am ready to switch to a synthetic (the motor is completely broken in) and was wondering what to run. I know that royal purple and amsoil make a good product as well as castrol and motul. Any suggestions and opinions will be appreciated! I know that I definitely want to run an oil that will deal with the TX heat and the rigors of motox...

I'm pretty sure your NOT supposed to run synthetic...causes the clutches in these bikes to slip...everyone that has done so has had to switch back...but your welcome to try...

I like Mobil Delvac 15-40 NON-SYN. I've torn down and built many engines of all kinds and it's never let me down.

Is that just regular 10-40/20-50 motor oil? Why the two different weights? Sorry so curious. I use to work for royal purple before i joined the Air Force. :)

Anybody have any thoughts on Castrol GPS 10w 40 it says synthetic base what does that mean. i have ran castrol in my tacoma for about 250,000 miles and the toyota tech was surprised how clean the inside of the engine was when he did the head gaskets. so i would like to stick with castrol for my quad as well.

i use 10w-40 redline fully synthetic and my clutch does not slip, my boss swears by redline, but my brother use torco t-4mxr or something like that and its a synthetic blend and he loves it, my next oil change iam going to use my bros torco and see how it works,

Shell Rotella synthetic is great. We have used it in our raptors for a long time and I am using it in the ltr and haven't had any problems. It is a quality oil and fairly inexpensive. Get it at walmart

Motul 10w40 semi synthetic, no problems with the LT-R clutch or motor running them through the hot desert of Las Vegas, Arizona, and the high desert of California some of the most brutal temperatures. Also had no problems with Castrol Actevo 4 stroke oil in my 04 Raptor that I use for Desert races.

mines still going through the "break-in" process but the boyfriend is making me run amsoil (thats what he runs in his sprint car) so I guess thats what i will probably be using. The dealership said that the amsoil fully synthetic oil would be fine to use with the 450
