I am wondering where you guys go (online, not locally) to get parts for your R450's. I'm mostly looking for stock parts, mainly front wheels, front a-arms, and grab bar.

I have a set of stock a-arms, but i can not sell them for $125.00. Last time i saw some on e-bay they were at $35.00 and 3 days to go. You can get a set of stock rims and tires alll four for about $250.00.

I also bent mine in a crash, and it appears to be the lower a-arm. But upon closer inspection, I noticed that my front lower frame is bent. I haven't figured out if the a-arm is even bent at all yet because the frame is not straight. I got a compound fracture in my leg in the crash and I am still unable to walk, so it will be some time before I can get out there and work on it.

If you look real closely at your frame, can you tell if you bent yours too? I am interested in finding out if these frames are week or if I am just unlucky.

I though I was reading my own post for a minute there. I had the exact same thing happen. Frame not A-Arm. But I crashed pretty good. I think were both unlucky and the frame is probably OK.

How does your upper frame look? My upper a-arm appears to be straight, but if I eye-ball down the center of the front of the frame, the top rails also appear to be a bit bent. The bottom rails definitely are, kicking the bottom a-arm back, but I think the top rails are also bent.

My crash was pretty good too. Flew over a table top and landed on a parked quad sitting on the backside.

Hi Talon

I broke my arm just above the wrist.I removed the A arm and it is bent out of shape,as for the frame it is slightly kinked by the mount towards the engine and paint has come away from the welds due to the stress of impact.Im hoping if i put new A arm on it will not be that far out.Fingers crossed.
Also my bike is one of the early models and the vin falls between the recall, thing is there is no recall in the uk at the moment.

WOW ..... $175.00 for one lower arm ...... So $400.00 for the set sounds good to me?

$400 sounds high to me. The only market of people looking to buy stock a-arms are those who bent the stock a-arms and can't afford to buy aftermarket ones. I can almost buy aftermarket a-arms for that price, so why would I buy stock ones?

In reply to Lee Booth: In regards to my bent frame, I also have paint chipped from the welded areas from stress. It is chipped in many area actually, kinda worries me. I was thinking of grinding the paint totally off in those areas and checking to make sure the welds aren't cracked or over stressed. I probably have about 8 areas like this that the paint has chipped due to stress.

I did not mean to come across rude? If it sounded that way i am sorry. I really dont care to sell the stock arms, but i would for $400.00. FYI you cannot buy aftermarket a-arms for ANYWHERE near $400.00. On top of that ALL aftermarket a-arms for the LTR450 available right now use LONGER shocks, so its not just $800.00 for a-arms ....... add another $800.00 or more for new shocks too. Now dont get me wrong this will work good and be a great set up, but i makes $400.00 alot nicer then $1600.00. Plus $1600.00 is on the low side for a-arms and shocks ....... You will really spend about $2500.00 when its all said and done.

I know you weren't trying to be rude. I didn't take it that way. My comment was made because it is widely known that parts from the dealership are way overpriced. I mean, 1 rear wheel, just the wheel, is $240. You can buy 2 wheels with 2 tires for that, aftermarket. Those big giant heel guards are $50, and no one would pay even $5 for those things. So USUALLY it is hard to get rid of stock parts, because very rarely are there people looking to buy them. That is why I was hoping to get a good deal. I am realizing that the stock a-arms are actually sought after by many people because they are good a-arms. I'm not saying you're ripping me off, I was just hoping to get them for less. Right now I think I'd just buy the 1 arm I need from Suzuki for $171. Budget is a big issue here. The wife is pissed! Dropping $6,000 on a broken leg doesn't help.

I think that link posted by DVS should be a pin-up or something. Extremely helpful site. Good job.

Though it's very helpful, it really is not a very clean design at all. Hopefully someone can come out with a design similar to what Alba has on their site, seems alot more organized.

Funny that Alba has the 2006 Honda's listed but nothing for Suzuki after 2004...

http://www.albaaction.com/

I'll make a thread with DVS' link in it in the important information forum.

Just for fun I think it would interesting to see what an LTR would cost buying one piece at a time from the link posted...referring to factory parts costing so much.

Our $6500 LTR new vs what?

I am guessing at least $20,000 if you were to buy each part from a dealer...
