When I first bought it, it was right on...then after the first ride it had stretched considerably...so I adjusted it and have only had to do so once more since then and everything seems fine.

Every chain will stretch when new but usually after awhile the chain stays tight.

when you break it in, i wouldnt suggest going all balls out. but make sure you go thru gears frequently, dont just stay at one speed the whole time. your manual goes into very deep detail about breaking it in..as well as tighting your chain! but to make things shorter. (you dont have to lift the rear up on a stand), if I remember right you loosen up those 4 bolts, have atv in neutral, roll it until you line up until you can put a screw driver thru a sprocket hole and thru another hole(dont know my names of many parts!), then its either roll the atv forward to tighten back to loosen, or vica versa, cant remember. just read the manual.

I tried! Parker

Oh and DONT FORGET to change your "break-in" oil and oil filter within a month or so from purchase date!
