I have a good friend of mine that owns a dyno shop and he said that I could probably run my LTR on his dyno. It is one where you take the wheels off and attach the dyno to the hubs. I didn't know if anyone has ever put there quad on a dynapak dyno?

This may sound stupid, but are the dynoes used for cars as well?

Dont put your quad on a car dyno.

If you are going to do it, then do it right. DynoJets are good inertia dynos and SuperFlows and Mustangs are good load dynos.

Dynapack does the same as a mustang and a dynojet. They all have a "real world" resistance baised on the weight of the car.

Dynapack is the same dyno that my tuner uses to tune my car and i will use it to tune my ltr down the road when i get deeper into the motor.

I've run most every brand and both types of dyno's and IMHO the Superflow can't be beat. I run my bike on a Dynojet this time though for lack of having a small Superflow close by.

I showed low HP numbers on a dynojet. I picked up 5 rwhp just by strapping it to a different dyno

Sorry I'm a little slow, I just saw this, LOL

We have also seen the same results with a Dynojet. I think with the introduction of the LTR450 it has raised a lot of questions about the internet dyno numbers across the country. It seems to me that with a pipe and fuel adaptor of some sort bolted to the LTR the average number across the net would be 49 HP. +/- 1hp
We have dynoed a quad with these bolt ons and the dyno is telling us 44 to 45 HP.

I think that everyone should be looking at gains instead of peak numbers. There is way to much of a variance across the country with dyno's to base everything off of.

ATP has an LTR rider running the GNC and WPSA. We have taken several holeshots, moto wins, and second place podeiums in both series with an LTR that was dyno'd at only 51 on a dyno jet. We have not yet had the chance to re dyno the quad on another dyno, but if you go with the internet average the same quad should be producing 55 to 56 HP on many of the other dynos out there based on the posted number difference of internet dynoed LTR's with the same bolt on parts.

If you really want to know what your gains are, then get a before and after dyno of YOUR quad on the dyno that you will be using.

I know this is a little of the subject at hand but I totally 100% agree with ATP on that one. Personally I have seen a couple of my cars spike dyno's...once as high as 1400...when I knew we were running about 450 hp give or take...soo...the point being that a dyno is a dyno is a dyno...the real question is how much did you gain over your baseline...same bike...same dyno...hopefully the same operator & weather conditions...

Thats the real "tale of the tape"... :D
