I seen a few people with them off, and I'm sure you got that glue left behind...What did you use to remove it. I tried nail polish since its somewhat mild and hopefully won't distort the plastics...acetone to much? laquer thinner?

Ether as in the candle fluid ether??

I had a heat lamp I was using as a "work light" that did add a little heat....I have it all off except for some junk smeared all around that wouldn't come up.

laquer thinner never lets me down, only thing is that if you leave it on for a while it can dull the plastic.

and thumbs? ha ha thats painfull, heres what i do, i learned from a guy doing body work for years. Take a roll of masking tape and firmly rub it in one direction over the sticky goo. Keep doing it and the glue will start to roll off :)

I used Ether on a rag and it took it off better then goo gone did.

I got it off with some Zex wax that my dad had layin around. Fingers are good today, them yrs of body work pays off...blisters are gone. I would go straight to the laquer if I had some...that shat will clean anything.
