FLA. 450
Yep had a similar experience with OLD Harry of Trinity Racing! He was supposed to do a Big Bore stroker engine for me, sent him all used parts- crank, cases that were Lapped precise on the mating sufaces, stock cyl., stock head, ect...
Jump back here to April 1999:
They were to do the work in about 4-5weeks. So I would have it back in time for the GNC races. Well it was about the 6th week and the crank was back from Crank Works stroked, ok, I thought you did stuff in-house? I could have sent it there myself?
Harry-Well not stroker cranks. They do special projects for me to my specs.
Rad.-Did you weld the crank pin? or static pin it, and true it afterwards? This was supposed to be done.
Harry- I don't know if they do that?
Rad.-Thats what was supposed to be done for racing this engine! I do that to my own cranks here!
Harry- Well I think it's done and I have the Cyl. ready, just gotta mod. out the cases yet.
Rad.- How much longer? I need that for the Open Pro Class in 2 weeks, and I have to assemble it all when it gets here. It's already a week over what you told me. How long yet? How many cc's did it end up being?
Harry-Well give me 4-5 days yet on the cases, and I'll send it free 1st day air ship. I think it's around 340cc.
Rad- What do ya' mean around? You know how much they stroked the crank, so how big of a bore did you use, I can figure that much out! I need this soon so ship it to my new address they have in your office now.
Harry-Ok, will do! It will be done and ready to ship free 1st day air, in 4 days.
Rad.- Fine, sounds good, thanks for the help Harry, see you at the first GNC in South Carolina.
Harry- Ok surf's up, gotta go, later.
Well needless to say I didn't get my engine in time, not only that ,it was 10 days later instead of 4.
I was already moved to the new address which was closer ship time anyways and they shipped it to the old address, shipping cost, 1st day air C.O.D. !!! Well of coarse it got refused several times I didn't know it was even shipped I was moving(closer to races that summer), and had no time to call "HairLess", and didn't want to bug him. I just took it for granted it would be there on time and thought Harry was good for it.
Huh, was I wrong! It went back to Trinity and till' this day I have yet to see any of my engine parts back!
I saw Harry quite a few times during that summer of racing and didn't get to talk to much to him or even get an explanation. He just kept the stuff. I didn't do credit card with him thank god!
I called a couple years ago to see if maybe he could at least send me a stock used crank back, and he hardly remembered the whole ordeal, and I never saw a thing back.
Harry ain't got a HAIR on his A$$ !!! ASSWIPES for sure!!!
uh oh surfs up gotta go!
