Saturday I was able to get about 4 mild laps in at the local track. On the 5 lap the transmission let go. It felt like the chain had come off and stalled the bike. Not the case. I tried to shift down to first and take off again, the bike died. Now the neutral light will come on but will die when you let out on the clutch. The only way the bike will move, is when the bike is in first gear with the clutch pulled. The bike WILL NOT even roll in nuetral-5th gear even with the clutch pulled. I am pretty ticked off at this bike now. Off to the dealer AGAIN monday. I will keep updating with carnage in the near future. Hopefully this is an isolated incident and no one else will have this happen. Oh well, life goes on, just not on my LTR!

While I was at the dealer today I ask about the "whining." I got the "Transmission problems!? did you check the oil?" I surprised the hell outta the guy when i first asked the question, like someone caught them redhanded. They came to the conclusion of an idea i suggested, at my expense, just a noise that it will make. To me I got the impression that it is a problem but there just ingnoring it. I hope it is just a noise that the trans makes since everyone seems to hear it.

When I brought mine in for the first service I asked the same question and got the same answer... The deer in the head lights sort of answer... I guess these are the bugs that need to be weeded out. Remember this is the first model year for this quad. It is going to have glitches.

Yes ... And we watch and see what they update and change on the '07 and then do the same.
If it is a MAJOR issue -- they will recall it.

Exactly, this is the first reported failure. Somewhere in this forum it was said that it sounds like a lack of oil in the gears. Lets wait for the outcome and see if it has anything to do with it. I have not yet seen or heard of anything as a result of the noise, This could possibly be a one off failure as there have been other one off's like my electrical fault for example.

What do you guys think will happen. The bike was purchased on Feb. 14, so that makes it less than 6 months old, still under factory warranty. Will Suzuki do the right thing and repair it under warranty or will they back out and make me foot the bill?

I think Suzuki is waiting for most of the first production bikes to be out of Warranty before telling their dealers about the real problems with the bike, so we will be left hanging........JMO!

there ya go sir. I've delt with oneida suzuki on a few occasions and have phenominal service and prices that can't be beat for factory stuff, unless you have some sort of hook up. Also if your dealer charged more than like $500something then they charged you more than msrp for the sepp.
