I know so may people race in California. But most of us here talk dunes etc.
What type of tracks do you have out there? I have read about Glen Helen and even remember Carlsbad from back in the day. What are your surfaces like?
I have travelled between San Jose and Modesto before and remember seeing a track off the Highway that hd a cool corner going up into a hill/ridge. It looked like red clay like soil.
Here near Chicago you can find a lot of different types of surfaces. Of course you have your usual dirt. But I have ridden clay like tracks, and then there is motoland which is a dirt/sand mix. Check out motoland.com to see it. It is a very impressive place.
In a few weeks we will hit motoland one weekend, then ride sunset ridge where they just had the national event last week, the following weekend. A few weeks ago, I rode a track about 3 hours south of Chicago called Lincoln Trail where they have had a quad national before. The track good, not great, but has one awesome triple(if you can fly 110 feet) for the pros to tackle.
Generally, MX racing in the midwest is a big deal. There are actually a lot of tracks which all have a few good sections. I am not a racer but do like to ride track as much as I can. We actually have some great choices.
