the Tip Over Switch mod is a must.
The tip over switch is a small pendelum, enclosed on a black plastic box. It's located up front under the hood, mounted on the frame in the center. the box has a rubber sleeve which slides over a metal frame tab.
The box has a plug and wires coming from it, you can see it with the front plastic removed... look down from the top - you can't miss it. It's about 2" wide and 1" high - a rectangular box.
It rattles when you shake it.

The TOS is a safety feature.. it kills the bike when you get on an extreme angle... and this isn't good especially in MX.

Basically... the pendelum swings side to side. When the pendelum gets so far, it kills the bike.

The goal with this mod, is to secure the little pendelum in place so it can't move - without interfering with the contact point that send the electonic signal. The contact point is on the backside of the pendelum.

Once you uplug the box, and get it back to the workbench... do this in a clean area.
The box comes apart, be very gentle.. ther are some tiny plactic tabs that need to be pushed in and there are a couple small plastic pieces that need to be taken care of. Be easy with it.

Take it apart, and slide the main circuit board/pendelum assembly out of the plastic case.
You have to hold it upright... the pendelum isn't attached very well and it moves around a bit.

Make sure you hold it upright, with the pendelum in the middle facing you - where it belongs.
I used silicon.. but you can use any kind of rubberized RTV - not solid drying glue or tape.

Silicon the pendelum in place on the front side only, in the middle, without getting it on the backside where the contact point is. Try to be neat and not just slop it on there. Once you think you got enough on there to hold it... that's it, you're done.

Reassemble the box - slid the circuit board back into the case and put in the rubber ring and plastic piece.
While the silicon is sill not set up... be genlte with the box. Handle it right-side-up so the pedelum doesn't move on you. Put it back on the bike, plug it in...

Then wait a few hours for the silicon to set up all the way before you ride it.
Make sure it starts up and runs. If it won't start - you messed up. Chances are you got some silicon interefering with the contacts inside the box.

I have not had any problems either but now you have me thinking about it. If contact needs to be made before the engine cuts out then is there any reason why it can't just be disconnected or by removing the contact all together?

You just cant dissconnect because you will not have the refrence voltage.I soldered the Solid state transister and removed pendelum.

It's not hard to do at all. It takes about 20 minutes, you just have to be gentle with it.

It's a very simple mod. Hopefully your bike won't kill in mid-air and send you into the face of a 90 footer.
20 minutes and some silicon sounds much better.

I'm sure a person could make a weather pack connector with jumper for cheaper than shipping cost on a aftermarket part.

I have a problem with it...everytime I do wheelies and go back as to I'm almost touching the grab bar on the ground it shuts off on me.

Good find, I'm going to have to look into it.

The pendelum swings side-to-side, not front to back... so wheelies shoudn't affect it.
