When I first got my 450 I ran it out on the dunes with the stock tires and it did good. I put the cherry bomb on and took the spark arrestor out and it did great! (the only thing I didn't do is pull the air box cover).
My problem is the next time I went out I put a set of ITP sand stars 20x11-10 I could climb anything but when I got to the flats and raced my buddy on a honda 450 when I hit fifth it just bogged out. I called the dealer and they told me it should have ran good. They also suggested that I try the Sand Gear tires they said they ran them on the dunes and the quad did good. I really don't want to switch sprocket but if I do what will happen when I run the stock tires.
I guess what I am trying to get at is what would be a good all around set of paddles for climbing, turning and raceing once or twice on the flats. Without changeing the front sprocket and why are the paddles I have now bogging the quad. If I pull the air box lid will it make that much of a differece?

And what about the sand gear tires they raved about them when I talked them at the shop they told me they turned good and did good on the flats as well. I am so confused right now that I am ready to run the stock tires all the time. :!:

Ask Sandjunkie about this problem. Me him and FUELATV went out and he had a problem with his Sandstars killing his top end. FUEL was running some 9 cup gliders and they worked awsome. The SS's are too heavy so they kill the top end. There are some good threads on here about this problem also.
