This Weekends Carnage

We had a large group out at Winchester Bay dunes this weekend for some riding and partying  . On Saturday we had been riding all day and we were headed back into camp when I hit a 12” sand wall in fourth gear pinned. I was on an access road floating over rollers, when I came over the last one I landed with my front tires at the base of the wall. I don’t think my stock suspension was able to soak that up. I don’t exactly know what happened after that, but I remember trying to roll off the side of the quad when it was in the air. The people behind me said I hit the ground really hard and rolled a few times and my quad did a few cartwheels. My head hurt for awhile and my ankle was messed up.

After I realized I was okay I looked over my quad. I bent my brand new FUEL bumper…not bad but noticeable. I think I will be able to bend it back. I bent my steering stem, bent my brand new Pro Taper bars, broke one of the front plastic mounts, ripped my rear plastics at one of the mounts, bent my grab bar, and I think my sub frame is bent.

I have everything taken apart now so I have a few decisions to make.

It is good to hear that you walked away. Sorry to hear about the quad. Mine is in pieces right now waiting on a new set of bars and a new stem.

Figure out what plastic color to go with...probably not pink, what stem and bars to get, and what to do about the sub frame.

Pink plastics and some pink junkie fiber....as appealing as that sounds, I'll have to pass this time around
My girl said she would pitch in if I go for the hot pink. Maybe in another year or 2.
Let me know on the stem. I can hook you up on one of mine or if you get another brand please hook me up with your bent one.

FUELATV
Fuel, I will let you know when I get my stem pulled out. Maybe we can work something out on a bumper.
OK .... remember i can still take any bent stem and make it a FUELATV anti-vibe stem. All i use is the very bottom of the stock stem.

I'm fine and my quad will be back to new in no time :)

We had a great time out there. We rode all day Friday and Saturday, and we were planning to ride on Sunday, but the rain rolled in.

The paddles were about the same as the last set only a little taller. The next trip I will try the 6 paddles to figure out what I like best. The 8's were bogging out of the hole when we were dragging if I didn't have a perfect launch.

If the weather doesn't take a huge turn for the worse we should head out soon.
