ANYONE SEEN THIS PROBLEM?
MY TEMP/FI LIGHT IS ON DIM I NOTICE AFTER A LONG RIDE.
THEN IT CAME ON DURING GNCC RACE, ABOUT HALF WAY DIDNT NOTICE ANY PERFORANCE LOSS.
NOW LIGHT IS ON RIGHT AT START UP.
I just uncorked, took the lid off, and installed a cb and rode it for the first time yesterday afternoon. The bike rode like a champ. We loaded the bikes up, took them home (30 minute drive) and noticed I had left the key on and in the run position when we were unloading the bikes. Then I noticed the red like continuously blinking and the bike would not start. However, I turned the key off and turned it right back on and the light stopped blinking and it started right up. Seem like an issue to you?We have 2 LTRs, and one was doing this same thing. Within being 10 minutes of new. What we did was turn the fuel petcock screw all the way in and then turn it all the way back out, and it went off. It was almost like it re-set itself..
BTW the red light means it has a FI failure. If it blinks 2 times a second its bigger FI problems.

No. Leaving the key on left the pump on. It was just sitting there recirculating fuel back into the tank. It got tired of waiting on you so it kicked the pump off, then kicked the FI light on. You reset things when you turned the key off, then back on. No biggieI just uncorked, took the lid off, and installed a cb and rode it for the first time yesterday afternoon. Being a G.M. Tech for 6+years I dont think that is a bad diag.LOL... no I haven't done it. It just sounded like a good answer.![]()
Seriously, I'm not positive, but I'm sure the pump "timed out" after no fuel usage. Then the FI system noticed no fuel movement and sent the signal to the light. The switch action reset everything. I have myself convinced that senerio sounds good!
