Everytime I go to my dealer to check on my bike, I find ANOTHER thing wrong with it.

Now they are telling me that my camshafts need to be replaced due to a technical service bulletin put out by Suzuki. I did not read the entire bulletin, so I will try to relay, what my mechanic told me, to the best of my ability.

The stock compression release mechanism on the factory cams are not working perfect. When the engine is cranking over cylinder pressure should be approximately 160 psi. I was told that my reading was closer to 200 psi.

I have noticed in the past that my bike would sometimes, stall when pushing the "start" button. I just thought this was normal. I guess it is not. If you are having trouble with the motor TURNING OVER when starting, you may ask your dealer about the service bulletin about the camshafts.

Also, my frame is getting welded(recall), 2nd gear is getting replaced, 5th gear is getting replaced, new countershaft, gaskets, and a few retaining washers, and clips(tranny failure).

I know we all love our LTR's, but this is getting out of hand. All this has gone wrong in a very short time frame. I bought the bike brand new on February 14th 2006. I really don't know if I got my money's worth with this bike. :(

I hate to hear stories like this. Nothing has happened to my ltr, not one problem. But every time i hear somthing like this i think about what might happen the next ride. I hope after all this crap there wont be any further problems for you.

im not to concerned for myself as i would be for suzuki releasing a bike with this many problems...look how long it took all of us to expierence the tranny whine. A few hours or most cases a few minutes. How could you have testing or quality control and miss these? Unless you don't have them at all.

With all these different problems, there should be a link (like the forum, pics..on the homepage.) to a spot that has a list of all the recalls so we can have a checklist for when we take are atv's to the shop and get all 20 some odd problems fixed

I just called my dealer and he hasn't seen anything yet. Of course that doesn't mean he has actually looked lately either. I also don't see anything on the Suzuki Recall page but our course that again doesn't mean it isn't coming down the pipe.

Are they just replacing the failed tranny parts w/ no update kit or anything that might solve the problem? If theyre just putting the stock parts back in, what's gonna keep it from happening again when the warranty is expired or before. This kinda worries me. I can see the big picture here, bike might be in the shop more than it's on the dirt!

Yea, i had the same problem with the exhaust cam going bad and over working the starter.

A tip for any guys having this 'cut out' problem trying to start---- Get it checked out before you toast the starter like i did. now i need the cam AND a new starter. :(
