I want to get new bars to put on my LTR, and I will need to move the 3 lights(low gas,overheating etc...)so I can put a bar pad on. Im just wondering how you guys removed the 3 lights from the stock black plastic peice, I cant seem to do it? Here is a picture incase you guys dont understand what I'm talking about.

remove the plastic lens first -- it is pushed into the rubber and uses the pressure to stay in place.


I...and most other guys I have seen ... are moving them to the plastic just in front of the gas cap.

USE THE BACK OF THE LENS AS A GUIDE --- IT IS NOT A CIRCLE.

remove the plastic off of the tank
take your time --- start with drilling a smaller hole -- I did that -- then used a file.
When you get it close -- check it. Don't go TOO big -- a little at a time.

ok thanks a lot. I got the lights out of the stock plastic thing, and re-routed them down to the right side fender(thats how im putting my lights, the same way Talon did) so I will just do as you said, start with small holes and gradually go bigger. If you hadnt of told me they werent circles, I would be screwed rite now, lol. Thanks a lot and I will get pics up as soon as Im done it all.

ok well everything went perfectly....except I CANNOT put the rubber back pieces back on the actual plastic light lenses. Maybe the plastics are too thick for them to attach. I guess I will need to PM Talon to see what he did for it. I will get pics up asap.

This is the tricky part -- That's why I said "take your time".

HAVE PATIENCE --

This is where I had to go back and use the file -- take just a little more off.

*- You need to insert the rubber tube from the backside first.
*- Work the lens in from a slight angle -- holding the tube on the otherside.
*- If you lightly damp the lens and the inside edge of the tube -- it works easier.

Like I said before -- be patient... take your time... and you will appreciate the outcome even more.

I used a dremel and made it the same thickness of the stock lights location.
