:shithappens: Look at nascar, million dollar r&d departments in the engines alone and they still blow up. It's not invincible, bad tolerences in parts, material, freak accidents it just happens. What fun would it be if everything were bulletproof.

J&M I think that was a really bad comparison, anything that has just a piston porting and some cams should be reliable. I will confidently say that those NASCAR engines have a lot more work then that into them. Plus how often do you ride your quad for hours at a time at full throttle? Now on any exotic engine build I agree that there will be plenty of chances for something to go wrong but anything that is advertised as a "kit" better be very reliable or it’s not going to be on my bike.

I got a kit in my vega and it is reliable all I was trying to say is that anything can happen and there is a whole lot more riding on a cup race then a quad race. They don't pay that kind of money to take a chance. Every quad racer out there has blown there engines, no matter what brand. If it's mechanical it will break. Dasa, nmotion,ct,duncan, sparks, trinity, the list goes on. Once again :shithappens:

maybe twice in a row but what matters is what caused it and learn from it or just build a new motor. if the same thing happend twice then they're idiots with money or just tried and didnt succeed at fixing the problem and hopefully will learn the second time. but like J&M said, any thing mechanical will eventually go wrong, best example..a clock..simple gears, extremely slow place so no heat build up but they can break

Hinkle I think the clock was a better example then mine. Simple and effective, good call

Some things are at a slower learning curve than others...especially when you have THAT many moving parts...add driver error and outside forces that you have no control over ( air density, temperature, CHANGEING temperature) and the occasional 3rd party parts failure...easy to lose 2 engines...
