Can anyone break down exactly what preload, compression and rebound are? Or point me to a web site or forum that will explain it and the proper adjustment procedures? I am 5'9" 150 lbs and my LTR seems very stiff! I need to soften it up quite a bit and have no clue what I am doing.

Thanks.

Thats definitely a start. The users manual gives some info also so I am gonna play with it this weekend. Another rider suggested turning all the settings down as soft as possible and adjusting up in stiffness until I find the sweet spot. With my featherweight build I am hoping it will get soft enough. We'll see.

Thanks for the input. :D

i weigh about the same as you. i turned the preload all the way down and turned the compression down two turns. i rode it a bunch and after awhile the front softened up a lot. now it's perfect.

I am glad to hear that. Then it is definitely just a matter of adjustment.

The quick way i tune my rear suspension:

Slow compression: All the way out, SOFT
Fast compression: All the way in, HARD
Rebound: Adjusted so when i violently jump down on the quad it doesnt buck up from the rebound, but it is fast enough so it does it *quikly*

For the front it is pretty close to the rear, but i just give the slow compression a couple turns in, harder.

I didnt want to use up brandwith so I thought I could throw my question in here.. Does anyone know how I can simply get to my rear shock preload and compression? what I do and dont have to take off? Thanks a lot guys... I just tuned my suspension yesterday and its 100% better.. I tightened up my preload before I understood all the tech stuff and it was all wrong.. my ride height was wayyy offf too high :D Thanks in advance guys
