Every time I do it I get a lil gas leak coming from the gas cap breather. But its the after market "shorty" breather type. Other then that no other leaking or issues.

And if you have a shorty just swap out the shorty with a longer one that fits snug when you go to store it. Just make sure it goes at least higher than the gas tank and you should be fine.

Only thing I know would be to try a touch of brake cleaner on it Junk. Don't hose the plastic down with it as your plastic will dull, but a small dull area is better than a yellow one.......

Junkie, use Simple Green. I use it to clean up where my boots rub and it works great.

Toothpaste has grit in it and would be good for pulling dirt out of scratches in plastic.........

Simple green is good for doing about the same and just a good general cleaning of the plastics, but I've never got either to work for pulling yellowing out of white. Brake cleaner seems to usually do the trick and with some heavy coats of armor all, you can get the shininess back as well.

It is tough, but I try to find a good gas can that doesn't leak on my skins while dumping the fuel.

I didn't spill the gas ya ninny...it spilled out when it was stored standing up...like the thread started out asking...

And the reason I said I was particular about it is because it's not really that noticible...but I'm particular that way...
