Ive got some bad news, I think the starter went out on my r450. Was riding with my cousin down a local dirt road and seen a couple walking so i went real slow for about 5 minutes so i wouldnt dust them to bad, passed them preatty good and took off ran her up through 5th and then pulled over to talk to my cousin and when i went to leave click, click, you could here the solenoid click but the starter said nothing. checked the fuses, all good. WTF we push started it and it fired right up and took it back to the house. Thought maybe it was just to hot so i waited till later that night and tried again, nothing. its in the shop now so maybe ill here something soon. hope this isnt going to be a chronic problem.

Mine does the same thing. It turns over real slow two or three times before it finally fires. I just figured it was new and the starter was still tight or it was because it had a lot of compression. It does it warm or cold. Turning on the choke or high idle seems to help it whens its already warm, I just kinda use it as a hot start switch. Dont really need it unless its hot. Mine just turns over really slow like its in a strain or something then after it says wanh, wanh, wanh, it'll fire up.

Yes, check your connections. A loose or weak connection will raise the amp draw through the solenoid and fry it . Loose connection = same amp draw across a smaller area thus raising the temperature of the load. Bottom line? It will fry :(

That used to happen ALL the time on my old Raptor, and it was from loose battery connections, I would tighten them up and it would fire up right away. It would also lead to a dead battey sometimes as well, try charging it up.
