I have an 03 KFX400 and had to deal with the shock mount cracking crap and now I'm hesitant to buy a first year quad again. I'm wondering if all this new technology of EFI will spring some glitches and if so I'm sure they would be taken care of in 07 maybe making 07 the ideal year to buy a quad. here are some pics of my KFX before I parted her out.

This is an older pic when I was runing the CT racing pipe. I upgraded to the Pulse Charger and what a difference. I was doing more woods riding so thats why i got the big razzrs on there.

Very Nice looking kfx! Are those razr 2 22's in the rear? I run razr2 22x11x9 on the rear of my 400ex dropped a tooth and kicks ass for technical woods riding! As for the 07 I am waiting for a while to see what transpires as far as first year buggs! Doubt I'll wait a year but waiting a while here. But every time I see a new post with pics or a testimony that they rock my trip past the Suzuki dealer gets harder and harder luckily they don't have any sitting on the floor yet... still satisfying preorders and local racers! When I see it in person who knows my hesitation may end!

Thanks! I have a 13 tooth up front too. Those are 20s in the back and 22s up front. The razrIIs were some sick tires for sure. I'm in NJ and I'm worried also when the hit the showroom. I'll be sure to stay far away because I know I wont be able to resist.

I am getting the first year quad, i just know that they built it for racing and tested severly so if something would went wrong with it would of already. the motor is proven from there dirt bike so i don't think it will be a problem.. mine should be here in a week LTR-450 YELLOW :)

I dont think there will be much to worry about in the EFI department because they based it on their Streetbike EFI's. Also, Suzuki has been using EFI on their Streetbikes and Utility Quads for some time now. I think they have it down by now.

Hell, It took them 5-6years of testing to make this bike. It better be close to glitch free.

I got an idea why not wait till 08' or even better 09' then that way you can sure all the bugs will be worked out and it will have some upgrades.

The king quad had many first year bugs and it was a suzuki with efi! I hope it does come out of the box flawless but we'll see. I have three quads now so I am not hurting for something to ride.

when you have many toys now that run great and would just be adding it to a collection and not be my only ride and could care less if I am cool and have it the minute it comes out I'd rather wait a while and get it after any bugs arise and are corrected and wait untill the price gouging game ends (after the paying triple retail for an xbox 360 so I can have it first crowd gets theirs) and get mine well below msrp as I have with every toy I ever buy! To each their own

Most new models are released in the fall so if you do wait until August there is a good chance you can get a 07'. The LTR seems to the result of fixing all the bugs on previous quads. Suzuki took EFI which they have already used, an engine they have already used, and worked with a close knit racing team to develop this quad. I am optimistic that everything will work.

it is too early in the season to see whether there are many or any bugs with the machines. but if you worry too much about it then stick to the 07 model. thats what im planning on getting only because money is restricting the urge.
