I was out at Elsinore MX taking some vid and happened to notice that the stock shocks did lighten up after a break in period. They seemed way too hard when I first started riding the LTR, but somehow they have softened up quite a bit. I had them dialed in so I would rarely bottom out, and now they are hitting bottom even when I hit the landing dead on. I am 6'4" & weigh about 215 lbs, so for a light rider, they just might be too stiff, but for us taller and heavier riders, they can be dialed in too tons of conditions. I ended up putting more preload back into the shocks and now the thing has me over shooting the landings at the same speeds I used to barely clear regular doubles.
Anyway, they are now dialed back in and I am still beyond happy with their performance. I never thought a shock would really have a break in period. Sorry for the poor pix quality, they are yanked out of a video.

I tried explaining this a while back, shocks have a VERY noticeable break-in period but it seems most people just assume they are "getting use to the bike". ;)

Anyways, glad to hear you got everything working to your likings.

Hit a different track today and was hanging about even with 2 YFZs' that had full Lobo/Elka set ups, they look pissed that I was running with them on stock shocks. I am still going to have TCS do a revalve/progressive spring set up thingy soon.
