Shift lever help

Does anyone know where I can get a longer or angled up shift lever for the ltr? My foot don't fit under the shifter with my size 14 boots. You can't adjust it up because it hits the chain guard. Any help would be appreciated.

Most of us are just notching out the plastic cover covering the front sprocket. All you need is like a 1/2 inch or so and it will work perfect! I used some diagonal pliers and cut it like butter.
I also wear size 14 boots and I just notched the plastic piece as well. I simply took it off and took the bench grinder to it. It turned out good you don't even notice it unless you are looking for it.
I did the same thing but with a metal grinder like thing at school. I don't know why Dirtwheels made it such a big deal cause you had to take of the cover.
I just striped mine out trying to tighten the bolt -cuss-!!!!
u don't even need that plastic cover. if u look there is still a metal case saver there. everyone racing them just removes it.
I took my shifter off to move it up one notch and then when I tried to put it back on, it wouldnt tighten at all. Im thinking I stripped it already, so I guess I need a new one. Anyone have any suggestions to make it fit better?

Yea..take it easy next time and use lock tight...You guys are a bunch of Gorillas :p
lol the bolt goes in halfway, and then I put lock tight all over it. Im going on a camping trip and Im bringing the ltr, do you think it will hold up for 2 days of riding? Were leaving tomorrow, so I dont have time to buy a new shifter. Any suggestions on what to do would be awesome.
Well..if it was me? I would haul ass over to Sears and buy a metric tap set and tap it out to the next size bolt...then run down to the hardware store and buy a metric cap screw for that beast...

OR...go get a bolt & lock nut smaller than the stock bolt...thread it through and tighten the lock nut...the shifter is cut so that it clamps tight with pressure right?

let me know if it works :p
DOES ANYONE KNOW OF SOMEONE THAT HAS A LONGER SHIFT LEVER OR ONE OUT OF STEEL THAT I COULD MAKE LONGER
Pick up a torque wrench while you are there :first:

This may sound stupid but I have to ask the simple question first. "Did you put the spacers in between the case and the case saver?" If not you surely stripped the threads trying to make that thing not wobble all over the place, and you will have to go the method that Sand Junkie stated.
