Just got a valve job done and new piston has about 15 hours on it of just farm riding, no racing. Also just had the fuel problems figured out this summer (new pump/reg new tps)

After I put the head back on it runs normally for about 5 minutes after it gets to op temp. then I get bad pops and stutters at wot

I was thinking it was overheating so I checked coolant and it was good, just put new in with the head, put the cover back on and it runs good again for 2 minutes

I’m thinking the valves have set to the head now and they’re expanding making the clearances tight...?

Someone confirm this or am I on the total wrong track

The valves may be getting tight but if this happens usually it won't start when it is warm/hot.
