ok, this is my educated guess but from studing pictures of the bike and the quad i think the motors are "look" different because they lowered the head to get a lower center of gravity which they dont need on a bike
the engines are completely different. Ive looked at them side by side in person. The ltr engine was derived from the rmz engine but i dont see one part that is the same.
They're not the same from what I've been told. I work for American Suzuki, the tech guy told me that they are completely different. They have different compression, the ltr has more piston rings, the ltr has more oil holes in the connecting rod, the gears and set up are completely different, the ltr has an automatic cam chain adjuster the rmz has a manual cam chain adjuster, plus many other differences. There isn't a single same part number between the two motors.
