I'm new at removing shocks so I hope the question isn't too lame.

But, I am taking off the shocks to get rebuilt and wanted to know if I need to watch out for anything special. I know to zip tie the bushings.

Mainly, once I remove the bolts, do I need to take pressure off the shock to get it off, and does it then just collapse onto the frame/etc.?

Thanks.

Also lift up the front of your quad so it takes all the pressure off your tires. That way they will come right off and the front end won't drop down when you remove the shocks.

Thanks for the advice.

I'll be using Hydrodynamics for the rebuild. No connection to them, just read about them in Dirt Wheels.

My hope is that I get smoother operation on small bumps and also keep from bottoming out. I ride tracks, but I am not a racer. I would clasify myself as a C rider or so as I have been on tracks with racers and do OK. I went through Joe Byrds school a few years ago and learned a lot. I also trail ride oe just generally rip around and enjoy the quad.

I also bought new wheels and tires. ITP holeshots front and rear...MXR6 fronts and 19 inch MXR4 for the rear. Black ITP GP wheels to match my nerfs and bumper. So now my LT is the usual white/black style.

My HMF pipe is in and it gives me a little power help from the CBM?peashooter out/airbox lid off set-up but I ride with the quiet insert so it it doesn't feel any different that way. Maybe I will go with a power commander to get more out of it later, but for now the bike is fast enough. It keeps up with most quads the way it is.

You will be happy with the re-valve. You will get some more travel out of it. It will also be plusher on the top. As far as a power commander goes ..... you should not need it. The HMP with the other mods you listed had a PERFECT A/F, so adding a power commander will not really add any hp. Unless you are at an extreme elevation.

I do get a lot of discoloration on the head pipe. It gets beyond the first weld. It is purple and a bit black. HMF said it was normal. Elevation wise I am in Chicago. Not high elevation

I just got the shocks off without too much effort. I did need to loosen the exhaust can to clear the top bolt of the rear shock. Other than that...it was normal.

It looks funny sitting on the ground. I wanted to snap a picture and post it on my local website and caption it as a hard landing after a jump. It looks real wide when its flat on the ground...like a frog ready to jump.

I'll post up after I get the shocks back.
