I'd take them to a chassis shop and have them weld in some threaded tubing if you really want to keep the stockers or just get after market arms.
I've thought about welding my arms to a jig (so they don't move) then cut out and weld in threaded tubing so that I can use replaceable automotive ball joints. but I've had many other things I've wanted to do but just don't have any time....(its football season and my son plays)....

Are you talking about cutting out the balljoints/stem?
I was thinking the same thing,But what balljoints would match up with the std ones?
Why would yoiu need to use threaded tubing?
If you used threaded tubing, wouldn't that alter the camber,as you would have make sure the ball joints facing up ,by screwing it in or out.so you couldn't go half way between as the b/joint wouldn't face the way you need it...
Does that make sense?
Couldn't you just cut out the ball joint where the stems welded and replace it with a peice of tubing? non threaded...
Then you could use a ball joint and put a nut on the end it..
I was also thinking about putting nipples on the a-arms,where they bolt to the frame..
has anyone done this? Does the aftermarket ones come out with them?

I am looking into getting the stock a-arms powdercoated, anybody know if there is a c-clip on the ball joints which would all me to pop them out? I am almost positive that I have seen them before on a different model, but sometimes they will not go back into place.

Hey
I got my banshee a-arms powder coated.they were std ones..
all i did was remove the boot around the ball joint,by taking of the clip holding em on(be careful as i tore one of mine and there not a part yamaha sold seperate.)
Get all the grease out,as it'll bubble up in the oven.
Got some silicon and siliconed up the balljoint.
Put the nut on the ball joint flush and silicon up to the bottom of the nut..
The silicon just pulls off after they've been p/coated..
worked a treat. :fro:
So the ltr ones should work the same.. i'll let you know when i get mine p/c..
If i don't try to modify them for a/market b/joints...
