I had one on my '03 CRF 450 and it was nice. I was wondering if anyone has used one on a quad? Arm pump is kicking my arse on the track especially coming into a corner when I have pull in that damn clutch :smiley_gun:. It bet it will help in the air if you leaning back and need to level up.

What are you guys opinions?

I saw someone post saying they had one a few months ago. It seems like a really good idea for MX if it works as good as it sounds. You had one before so you know better than most if they are good quality. That would be my only concern.

I thought they were a bit pricey though for me.

The quality is next to perfect. I rode only trail with my CRF. They are great for trail but I was wondering about the MX track!

i was wondering the same things. sometimes when i am on the beach and jumping logs i stall out and i know the rekluse would fix that.

I didn't get one because they said you couldn't use your engine to slow your bike down as you were going downhill... :(

I love using the engine on the downhills but that clutch would be nice. Trail riding would be my main reason for buying,My trails up north are tight for my quad so when I want to rip them I wouldn't have to worry about the clutch so much.

I think they would work well. I hate using the clutch, especially on the MX track.

so how exactly does this thing work? whenever you let off the gas the clutch engages? so if you hit a jump and let off the gas and your front end comes up you can hit the rear brake and even it out without worrying about pullin in the clutch? if thats the case than this might be worth the money since i jump a lot

I would never get one! If u have problems shifting or stalling then u need to ride more. I know i've stalled it but thats only when i hit somebody and forget to be patient then i pop the clutch. If it was alot cheaper i would try it but for that much i'd rather just spend my money elsewhere.

Everyone I've talked to have absolutely loved theirs...not quite my style, but people seem to go crazy over them

I would only recommend one of these for an experienced RACER only! For those who just trail ride or ride dunes you will want that engine braking. Even in races I have been involved in coming down a steep incline you better know how to control your bike. The only benefit for this clutch is racing because you won't stall, and that's it. The quality of these are really nice and for racing you can't go wrong! What's nice is if you check with Rekluse to see what race they will be at they will even install it if you buy it at the track, just remember to bring some oil.

well i know from being a new rider that engine braking is a great feature of the new four strokes and to me the wreck-luse :) clutch is on the market to eliminate that in theory making the machine ride like a 2- stroke which don't engine at all, and those are what most off the veteran riders have been on forever.

Just another thing on the list. The engine braking I can deal with, I'm used to 2 strokes anyways. I'll just have to buy a wave style rotor for the bake and some bad ass pads. Damnit one thing leads to another. :bangbang: money

The energy you save by not having to brake as much due to the engine compression would make up for the fact that you have to use the clutch without the rekluse.

One way or the other you are going to be using one more then the other.

Just installed it on mine and went riding this weekend... absolutely love it. Granted I'm a newbie here and new to racing it is definately a great feature to have.

I found myself killing the bike going down steep hills and locking up the rear. This will be a nice way from holding the clutch in while going down hills since that will fry the engine - parts are still moving with the clutch pulled in.

The principle of a Rekluse clutch is centrifugal force. With the engine spinning faster, the ball bearings in the clutch expand to the outside thus disengaging the clutch and making you go forward.

The Rekluse clutch does require maintainance to ensure that the gap spacing is not exceeded. Overall install is not difficult, just a lot of little parts. (3 out of 5)
