Well my starter finally came in yesterday and to my surprise my dealer called me about 3 hours later to tell me that it was done. Well I'm school about two hours away and planned on picking it up today untill this morning when they called back and told me that there is a recall on the frame. He said if its cracked they'd have to replace it and if not they'd have to take it and get it welded. This sucks but at least they're making good on everything.

Im also interested, mine was one the first ones that my dealer got. I have looked at the linkage and it isnt welded all the way around the washer. Ill ask him when I go pick up nerfs and such.

Where is this occuring I want to check mine I keep hearing linkage so im thinking the swingarm but if it happens and the frame needs replaced I thought it might be the top shock mount. I called my dealer and they told me if my bike was part of the recall Suzuki would notify me but I would like to check before somthing breaks and if it is just a missing weld or possible bad weld I will just mag it and fix it myself.

Where the rear shock lingage attaches to the frame. If you have one of the earlier ones, there will be a washer there that is only welded half way on each side, the newer ones have it welded all the way around.

Mine is also within the VIN range for the recall (darn)... But has anyone looked at the 17 page doc listed in this forum??? There appears to be two issues. or at least from what page 3 shows.... it lists replacing items around the steering shaft as well as items no 1-2 & 1-3...... pages 4-5 lists how the dealership can fill out the claim orders depending if the frame will be fixed by way of welding or replacing... The issue with the rear shock is on page 6... . bottom line... if the frame weld bead is cracked over .5mm you get a new frame. Less them .5 the frame is welded...

BTW- this site is great!!!... It's nice to see fellow riders looking out for oneanother....Keep up the good work guys... it is Truely appreciated....

I called my Suzuki dealer in Odessa, Tx. and they said they haven't heard anything yet. That they would call me when they DID hear something 'bout the recall. Can you believe that? So what, am I not to ride my quad or what? Damn it, I was going to the sandhills in Kermit this weekend.
