Please guys make sure you and all your friends wear your helmets! My good friend that was on this KFX died last night after a wreck on this machine. These pics were taken this morning after the wreck last night. The rider on the 400ex broke his arm and collar bone trying to avoid hitting the other downed rider. 3 of my friends headed down a back road to go to the store and thought it's a short ways it's dark and we won't be going fast so we don't need helmets and now ... two of them wish they would have! They were not drinking they were not going very fast and they were on a back road (right behind my house) and the KFX rider hit loose gravel lost control went up a steep enbankment next to the road then was thrown 30ft when it stopped suddenly and the 400ex rider went up the bank also to void hitting the other rider and the bike rolled on top of him.The third rider ran to my house to ask my wife to call 911 I was out of town. Noone want a call like I got last night! The ems arrived 20 min after the crash they then tended to the riders almost an hour later the Healthnet medical airlift team found them and then took the KFX rider to the trauma center where he later died at 4am. The 400ex rider has a broken his arm and collar bone but is ok other than that. Look at the KFX very little damage and he is now dead... due to no helmet, it doesn't take much at all when you hit your head! No matter how short... end of the yard, end of the road, or whatever wear a helmet! Please take this as a gentle reminder fom some saddened fellow riders, make sure you and your friends wear your helmets! There are 2 little kids now that no longer have a father from a quick ride with no helmet! Be smart not all of us get a second chance to be stupid.

I know exactly how you feel and I'm sorry that ANYBODY has to get one of those phone calls! I was in the same situation as you about two years ago. Fortunately for me, my friend was given a second chance. He was in intensive care and on life support for over six months and then he was taken to rehab in Colorado for 4-5 months. Now, he is handicapped for the rest of is life! Physically AND mentally! That was a huge wake up call for everyone he knew!

My Prayers go out for you and your friend's family! There is nothing anybody can say or do to make you feel better about the situation and I hope you don't blame yourself as I tried to blame myself for not being there!!
