Ok guys at my last race I took a tumble in the sand section of the track and it didn't really hurt the quad too much except for bending my brake lever (ASV here I come!) and breaking 2 of my front plastic mounts. The breaks are very clean and my plastic is almost like new yet except for that. SO I was wondering if plastic weld would work. I don't have any experience with it, but I heard it works pretty good....I was just wondering if any of you guys have ever used it..... any input is appreciated

plastic weld works pretty good IF you have a plastic welder BUT you still have to sand it down and then go on to paint it and blah blah....not very good for a atv sinces its really not painted or very strong. if its hidden enough you could just weld it and not sand it (except when you prep it of course) if you can find some white rod, i've never seen any.

We have a plastic welder and I've tried it a few times...

The closer the composition of the plastic you're welding into the old plastic, the better it will hold. Like say if you've cut your fenders, using the left-overs after the cuts is the ideal plastic to melt in there. I have some decent experience with plastic welding, and honestly - on motocross ATV's I normally end up snapping it back off off after a few hard landings. Have had some hold up great, all depends on how high-stress the area is

If you have cut your fenders, you can always give it a go. Worst that can happen is that it won't hold in which case you'll have to do some cosmetic work (or just buy new plastics, like you may have to if you can't rig them up in another way)

i had my plastics on my predator plastic welded after my roll over and it worked fine..........i could tell where it was welded but it looked 10 times better than the crack

duct tape and white spray paint. If you are real picky epoxy the tape. :lol:
