Nope...the sand stars performed so poorly last time that we both sold ours...we found that any molded tire is gonna bog after 2nd and into 3rd...then after that it feels like you threw out a anchor...and thats no lie :(

Hey guys. Unfortunately I'm going to Oregon dunes right around july 4 and I need to buy paddles before the review. I was originally gonna buy the sand stars but after all the negative reviews I've heard, nope!

If you guys were to buy a paddle tire RIGHT NOW, it'd probably be the haulers right? Would it be the 6 paddle or 8 paddle ones though? I know nothing about duning so any info would be appreciated. And FUELATV what paddles are you running right now and how do you like them?

Also, anyone know wholesalers that are a good price that ship to Canada? The dealers here absolutely rape us on rims and tires combos.

AJW, call Joe @ Fullerton Sand Tires and I'm sure he will hook you up. His number is (714) 898-2049. Great guy and LAZER fast shipping. I ordered mine Friday morning and he had them to me Monday afternoon. Below is a extrememly good write up by OKTRX about sand tires also. Probably confuse you even more but knowledge is power right?

I'd have to add one more tire to that list....

Sand Skate I's in a comp cut 21"x12"x10"....... Rob pulled me pretty hard with that setup. I run a 21x12x8 7 paddle hauler. A 6 paddle will probably be faster than what I have now. And if you can afford it, get the "tripple buffed" haulers since they are significantly lighter than my standard buff tires.

RK...your really gonna wonder how you rode without them once you get the 6 cups on. I guess anything is better than nothing. This last little run I took on Friday...I just ran my knobbies and had a freaking blast...roosting it up...was able to kick the ass end all over...I'll keep my 9 cup gliders BUT...those knobbies are hella fun :D

Thanks for the info guys, sorry for the ignorant post. I hate guys like me that ask a stupid question and then search only to find their question has been answered 100 times. lol Won't happen again! Joe @ Fullerton will be hearing from me. Sounds like a smart guy and I like dealing with smart people.

I'll just give a little review. Fullerton Sand Tires gets an A+. Great to deal with, they really know their stuff and the prices are great. I got the 20X10X8 (I think, they're on an 8 inch rim anyways and their a 20 inch tire) 9 Paddle gliders and they worked out great at the St. Anthony dunes. The only complaint I had was that in first gear taking off the bike bogged down a bit. I'm told that changing the front sprocket to a 13 tooth will solve the problem.

That being said once you got going with these tires they hooked up great and acceleration through ALL gears was excellent. Going flat out in 5th was a breeze (I've heard that some paddles will hold you back in the higher gears). Hill climbing was also a breeze.

Next time I go I'll put on a 13 tooth sprocket and I'm sure the tires will be great.

Great to hear Joe took care of you...he is truely one of a kind!

Definitely switch to the 13T, you will be amazed at the difference...should have went with a 21" tire! Just my opinion, currently in love with the 21" tire size...

I am still looking for a sort of compairison of the haulers to glider. I know the haulers have bigger paddles that's why 6 is the magic number and the gliders more/smaller. How does that effect handling, acceleration.... :)

in my opinion i would go with a 6 paddle hauler or extreme. I mostly ride in glamis and haulers have great hook up and with 6 paddle your able to slide it around.

gearing seems fine to me, pulling hard 3rd up olds. yet to be beaten a by honda or yama 450

Me too!

Nice compromise between a 22" drag tire and a 20" trail tire. I can jump dunes, drag, aggressively trail ride, etc all with the same tire and do it all good!

I have 21X12-8 7 paddle haulers that I love, but would love to have OK's brats :p

Also, I would like to try some 9 paddle gliders. They should slide a little better and not throw as much roost. I do like my buddies and I(being the badass I am :p ) always lead the aggressive trail rides and I have to hear about my "wall o' sand" that trails me

The 9 cup glidder and 6 cup hauler will be very close. I think the 6 cup hauler may slide a slight bit better, but 9 cup glidder will have more hole shot. We will see as soon as it cools of. Both tires work great. I loved the 6 cup haulers this weekend. PERECT combo IMO. Remember the glidders are NOT as durabel as the haulers. If you are in soft sand glidders will last a long time. Hit some gravel or hard stuff ..... glidders are toast. I like the 20x10x8 fast on top and still a VERY dunable tire combo. I am no drag racer and love to pound the woops and jump. The 21 are TOO tall IMO and will have too much side wall flex for me.
