My family have always been 2 wheeler people, and as far as my Dad is concerned, forget the hype cause Ohlins are the most dominant suspension company in the world.
Now out of the hundreds of quads I've ever seen in my 4 years of racing, they all run Fox, PEP, Elka etc., and only a few run Ohlins. Is that because they are not as good, or is it just because they don't have the market like Fox and all the brands that aim they're market at us?

Someone please give me opinions and on Ohlins compared to the other 'common' brands out there. It's for an 2014 XC build so I value everyone's thoughts. I already have 2 sets on Custom Axis Pro Airs, which i've ran for the past 2 years too, if that helps?

Budget for suspension is limitless too...

Thanks everyone!

I think the biggest reason they are not that popular is do to the fact that they dont realy support this sport as much as fox does. They are kinda big in the XC market dues to Bill Balance ran them for a while but other then that I only know of 2 pro riders that ever ran them in mx . I have wanted to run them but due to the price and no real reviews of them and the price of them does not help. They are actually having a sale on them rigth now for rear shocks on there website for the LTR.

I run the stock Ohlins on my KTM that have been reworked by Rocket Ron. They are great shocks in my opinion. If you run long travel arms on the LTR, the stock KTM shocks are roughly the same dimensions as the shock you will need. You will just have to make sure the reservoir clears the a-arm when compressed.

We had a guy that had run xc switch do desert that ran ohlins(LT). My opinion was they didn't have the travel of a standard LT shock and felt like a stocker. They worked good good on the small stuff but the 3-4 foot g-outs, big rocks, etc kicked their ass. He ordered them from Ballance and had them setup which might have been the problem since his shop doesn't have experiance in the desert.

simple thing is, cost... not amny people can get their hands on ohlins shocks and get a good deal. Fox dealers along with Elka or PEP are everywhere and more people can get a discount on them.

i run ohlins on my ltr right now and they are comparable to elkas only thing is that the ohlins are ohlins and elkas are elkas its mainly paying for the brand name butttttt i will say either direction is fully worth every Pennie, once u can get good at dialing suspension in because it isn't worth buying if u cant use it right...
