Just wanted to stop by and say hi, I will be picking up my new WHITE LTR 450 this Saturday. Got it at Chapperal motorsports this past weekend, i would of brought it home but they sold the last 3 white ones and only had yellow left. They had more white ones but were in crates still.

It was funny I didnt go there to get a bike for me I have a 03 WHITE Z400 piped,K&N,13t gear, full Pro armor skids, cooler rack and bumper. We went there for my wife, She has a yellow 03 z400 but wanted something a little easier on her back and other reasons so we were looking for a utilty type quad for her. She liked the the new Hawkeye from Polaris so when they were doing the numbers for her and credit app, they said we got approved for 15K, so I jumped in and got me a new one too :).

I already bought the CB for it so im ready to go, I think.... We mostly goto places Ocitillo Wells, Glamis, El Mirage lake, stuff like that. Anything I'll need to make it work good in those places? I got paddles already, assuming the ones I have for the Z400 will work on this one. Im probably going to get the full skid and swing arm skid for this one as well, but dont have the cash for it aty the momment. Will be ok with the factory plastic stuff for a few trips?

Im hoping the frame recall has been performed at the factory as well.

I 've already been looking thru here and there alot of helpfull stuff, thanks!

Congrats on the new quad.
Yes your paddles will fit on the LTR and I would suggest switching your 13t off your Z to your LTR. Those are about the only things that match up. Also the first thing I would do is locktite all the bolts on your healguards if you plan on keeping them. I lost 3 of them on my first trip. Have fun and enjoy!

How easy/hard is it to switch the 13t, Im sure theres some docs on it in here some where? I had a firend do it the last time. Will the 13t work ok with the 18" rears?

Plan on taking off the pea shooter from the exaust and the airbox lid. Is there a need to goto a K&N? or is the stocker good?

Also forgot to mention that Suzuki is sending me 3 free items nurf bars, ez-up and a ball cap.

Actually with the CRBM + baffle removed + airbox lid off I think air/fuel ratio is pretty much ideal. I believe anything more than this to open it up may put you a little lean...

Now with that, there is HUGE potential for power gains in aftermarket filters, cutting up the airbox, etc but then you'll have to invest in a PIM or PC. If you're willing to do that...then we have a whole new boatload of modifications you can do to pull more HP :D

Ohh, and be sure to loosen those front shocks up a bit once you have let shock fluids heat up/cool down a few times. They will loosen up by the time the shocks are broken in, but Suzuki set the stock boingers for a guy in the 230lb range it seems. Once you have an hour or two on the machine I'd suggest loosening them up at that time unless you're in the 200lb+ guy club with a few of us.

Well you may not want to run the 13t with 18", 20" definetly run it. Unless you have absolutly no use for 1st gear and not much for 2nd. Although it is extremly easy to change the sprocket on the LTR much easier then the Z. Read the instructions in your owners manual on adjusting the chain, then its just remove a couple bolt change the sprocket and reinstall the bolts with locktite. It's not hard at all. As for the stock filter I guess alot of people had problems with it ripping when they tried to clean it, I was luckly not one with that problem. I would go with the K&N though its much easier to maintain. JMO

Thanks...

Not looking to go that far into modifing (YET) So ill stick with the original plan for now.

As far as the shocks, well, I'm part of the 200+ club  so i may be good as far as that goes :)

With the lid off I'll be good with dirt and sand in the stock filter? the k&n i run now I use the outerwears over it.

I'm going to run the stock tires, unless it would be better for me to change to some 20's, in which case it would be at least 6 months before I could. I dont really do any MX just desert and glamis riding. Im going to sell the Z400 so worse case I can buy another 13T if thats the way I need to go.

Dude...welcome to the site and I hope you have as much fun as I have in the past months...

If I was you?...just ride the thing first...do the CRBM & airbox & peashooter mods first obviously...then ride the thing before you decide what you want to do next...you may change your priorities about which mod you want to do next depending on how you ride...what your riding skills are...where you ride?...and above all...your budget...

Tires for example?...You sound like you live near me so I'll give ya the run down...Glamis & Lake Mirage?..18" are ok but try to move up asap...Ocotillo?...could be rough because of the terrain & rocks...so watch where your going...

Stoddard wells, Johnson Valley & up there?...stay away until you have skids and larger tires....

I'm sure you live around me so PM me if you have any questions...

and above all...Have fun! :p
