I am probably getting a 250 sport atv and I was wondering if anyone could tell me which one is the best...I want the biggest one with the most power and speed..I noticed that some people say the trx250ex outruns the z250s but the z250s have more CCs. Some advice would be greatly appreciated thx

Me personally I wouldnt worry about FASTEST per say on a 250, but what all do you get with each model. Which has the better suspension and brakes? What has the most aftermarket parts available? How does the size and ergos fit the rider? Those are some questions to ask to maybe help narrow it down. It all depends what its going to be used for too. I suggest researching the features if you have not already. I personally like the trx250's over the z250. Dont know if this will help you, but just my thoughts. Good luck!

Well I the things I want to get out of it is maybe a little trail riding/exploring some tricks (wheelies etc), But I would like to keep up with my friends 450, Yes i know i cant beat him or even come close to tying but i want to atleast be able to keep up. And I do plan to get aftermarket parts (air filter, jet kit, exhaust)

Well I wouldnt suggest the 250, Maybe a 400ex. It would take a super dooper experienced rider on a 250 then a below avg rider on a 450 to keep up. Do you just not wanna take the leap into a 400 or 450? I think the 400's power is easily managed. What reasons are you wanting the 250 vs something else?

Edit: the above statement is on the track or racing enviroment. the 250 would be fine for trail riding as most people arent flying through the trails anyway.

I would much rather a raptor 350 but unfortunatly thats not even in my price range..I have a dirtbike that could easily sell for around 2500 but my parents aren't exactly the kind of people that sell stuff or buy used things..there more of the use it till it dissapears -.- and they think all used atvs are racked out or else I'd have a used yfz450 at the moment :)

P.S. Sorry for the..um spam i will wait a while now

Get the new Honda 250EX. It has what they call a SportClutch. Its kind of like having a Rekluse on a full sport quad. It has a fully functional clutch, but you cant stall it. The clutch would be nice for wheelies and would give better control of the power, without the worry of stalling it on tight trails. Just my $0.02

listem ive had a 250ex , now for 3 years switching to r450 in december. check my signiture for the few mods, but this machine is awesome for a sport quad and recreational use. its easy to wheelie, stable, powerful for a 250, reverse. cheep. i think that this is better than the z250 even though the suzuki has more cc's

I think you should look for a used 400ex, you could get one for the same price as a new 250ex, if not lower.

If not I would look for a blaster or 300ex, because they are chain driven and have a manual clutch. But that's just me, good luck on your purchase

If i was 12 again i would choose the 250ex than what i had, my 12 yr old present was a 2002 TRail Blazer. It was big which i liked, but it had some bad low power, but was still so fun .
