Need Oil Filter Info Quick!

6352 Views 6 Replies 4 Participants Last post by  SandJunkie
Hey guys, I leave Tues. night for a trip to michigan and I need to change my oil before I leave. My dealer doesn't have any in stock. Does anyone use any other brands of filters? I'm looking for a part number for a filter I could pick up at autozone, walmart etc.

Does anyone use a Fram, Supertech, Wix, or Bosch filter?
If so please reply with a part number so I can go get a couple.

Thanks.

You might be in a tight spot...... you do know the z400 filter is the same right? Try that with your dealer.....

Yeah I know that's the same...I asked the dealer about that too and he said it was the same part number. Thanks for trying though.
If you would have said something sooner, I would have sent you one of my K&N oil filters to get you out of a pinch. It won't make it there now.

As a last resort, just change the oil and look at the filter to make sure it's not clogged or too nasty(kinda like taking a shower and putting dirty underwear back on  )
What state is it you are located in? I know if I order anything from Dennis Kirk before 5-6 pm it will be to my door by 3 the next day no questions asked (but I'm within a two hour drive of them as well).

I can't say no for sure, but I wouldn't see wal-mart stocking any oil filter that would cross over...

Would it be out of the question to drive to the next dealer over? I've never had a problem with a dealer stocking an oil filter, you just happend to hit a time they were out of stock. May be able to find a Suzuki dealer in MI not too far out of your way either on the drive there?

Let us know what you find out, and good luck
I'm located in NH, unfortunately the second nearest dealer that has suzuki or kawi is two hours away, looks like its going to be a long one for me tomorrow. Thanks for the replies guys.

I saw one of you uses the K&N, does anyone use the EMGO or the WIX filters? I know WIX makes them for the KFX400 which works for the LTR, the part number is 57931, my local parts store doesn't have those in stock though.

I'm going to make a few calls in the morning and see if I can find one. Thanks again.
Sounds like the begining of a trip to remember...eeeeekkkk :p
