I'm gonna need some new paddle tires for this coming halloween at Gorden Wells dunes in CA. My ltr is pretty much stock except for a cherry bomb, removed airbox lid and baffle. I want some skats but dont know what size. I"ll mainly be riding in the bowls with the occasional drag and comp hill climb. I know skats are good but dont know which kind to get, how many paddles, and what size. I want it to hook up good but I also want to keep the same speed. I'll also be changing my front sprocket to a 13 as suggested for my trail riding! please help!:sadwavey: By the way, the sand in the bowls are pretty thick.

8 paddles haulers are too much for a stock motor, 7 paddle if you run straight paddles, but not good on the bowls. you can run 8 if you run v paddles. i dont like sand stars because they are heavy but i do see a lot of other quads run them with no complaints. the skat track sand skats are nice and the paddles do hold up to abuse and will work great if you plan running more bowls and dunning vs hill shooting.

So 8 paddles are gonna be too much? How bad is it gonna bog it down? Just wondering cause Skat Trak has it on their website that haulers are for 250's and 350's. Just figured being 450 that I would have no problem. Not being stubborn just trying to find a happy medium. So if I decide to start rippin' up comp hill, a 6 is gonna still have what I need to carry me strong?

Don't read too much into what their website says.

6 or 7 paddle would be ideal on an 8'' wheel..8 paddle will still work fine, I wouldn't go anymore then that though. Yes Going to a 13t is a good idea too.

It's much better to be under paddled than over paddled.

What about 8 paddle gliders? Are they lighter than haulers? Reason is, is I found some on craigslist back rims and tires for $75 and I was thinking because of my limited time to save some good cash to buy new, i would buy these now and save for some 6 haulers later. And are gliders good? Sorry so many questions, I'm pretty green.
