I just got back from pismo beach on my 6 day old ltr450.

The quad has cherry bomb with the baffle out, airbox lid off and running 104 sunoco race gas.

This quad runs very very strong it feels stronger than my esr310 250r. At the drags i did not lose to a single honda 450 or any yfz's i raced a camed/hi comp yfz and beat him everytime. So basically i am very very happy with how strong my quad is in stock form. The suspension is very very good, i fly over the woops faster than i ever have. I love this bike........

PROBLEMS!!

I have a wiring issue with the key it only works when it wants to, no indicators ...nothing. Eventually it decides to work and it will start.

Now the real problem....

After a ride in the dunes i am crusing back and my quad is surging like its not getting fuel, back fireing. Anytime i give is more that 1/4 it bogs. After trying to get back to camp my quad dies in the middle of the dunes. I try to start it it will idle for 10-15 seconds and die, if i give it any gas at any point it dies.

So at this point i am pissed, i checked everything i could think of choke, gas, battery, fuses, took of chery bomb everything in my power. Tuesday morning i am dropping off back at the dealer. Its not getting fuel, but unlike my other quads i dont know enought to trouble shoot any EFI problems.

I bought this quad because i was tired of working on my 250r and my first trip out my quad breaks.

This is the best quad i ve ever owned......... when it RUNS!!!!

Before you take it to the dealer try clening out the gas vent hose. I know it sounds stupid but ive had it happen to my z 400 when riding in the sand. Let me know if it works

The inside 55 gallon drum of race gas i bought was rusting, basically all the crap in the gas caused my fuel filter to clog.

So I got some bad race gas, they company i got it from payed for my quad to get fixed and they gave me a new drum of race gas.

Is there a reason you're running race gas?? All I've ever run in mine is 93 octane premium pump gas and I haven't had any problems. I don't know for sure, but I don't think you need race gas until you bump up the compression. JMO but it would definitely be cheaper than buying race gas. Glad to hear the company you got your gas from took responsibility and paid to fix it for you though. Well, good luck and have fun with the new quad.

My LT-R was doing the same exact thing (bogging after 1/4 throttle) so I took it to the dealer and they found that the fuel filter inside the tank had been clogged due to material in my fuel....they said Suzuki wouldnt cover the labor costs but they fixed it for free since Ive spent like $20k there in the last 2 years....

AH HA!!!!

I think I told people a couple of months ago...watch out for crappy gas!

Those guys don't care if they are selling sludge for 5 bucks a gallon...I have been having to replace the filters on my cars more and more frequently as of late...thats what kind of clued me in...

A lesson well learned...
