A person on another site have said that his local dealer (in VA) was contacted by zuki about returning the ones on their showroom floor because of the frame issue... My local dealer in CA hasn't heard anything about the frames...

Has anyone LTR owners had any problems besides the trany whinning and the chock sticking???

Just want to hear from real LTR owners and their issues, that's why I joined this group... I want to make sure I'm hearing from actual owners of LTR's and not someone that really owns a '04 YFZ that got pissed because they lost to an LTR last weekend, you know???

Thanks guys...

Iv had mine for almost month (feb 18) rode it every weekend and some days in the week and i can personally tell you that i have not had one problem with my LTR no warp in the frame nor choke engine problems ect, I think the YFZ/TRX owners are just blowing smoke =D only problem with me is the shifter is alil short for me but thats just MO

P.S. a lot of the "problems" with the LTR has to do with the initial break in of the bike, so be extra careful riding it the first month or so. spec (10-15hrs) should be good.

Ride for 10mins shut it off let it cool down REPEAT once more
Then for the next 9 1/2 hrs or so (lol) dont go over half throttle but dont be a wussy on it either do a couple quick starts but thats about it.

Whose break in method is that? With info like that why don't you suggest they use a synthetic oil with friction modifiers. :p
Here's the way to break in your engine.

I agree with 3MTA...ride it like ya gonna ride it...get ya some! That bike was built for one thing...eating everything else in it's way. No worries here either. Yea the shifter is a lil short for me also but I'm hoping a billet shifter from Pro Armor will solve that. Keep ya posted :D

Bare performance is already making a gusset kit for it. This is strickly rumor but i heard that Zuki stopped production for 2 days to redesign and re-inforce that area on the frame. They went through and salvaged all usable parts on the ones they had already built on the assembly lines and scrapped all non usable parts, i.e. the frames. Hopefully this problem is contained.

It really is a simple fix, there just needs to be some reinforcing on  the bottom linkage bracket on the frame.

I am sure we will see more official information to come.
Do you have more information on this? Seems to me you are referring to those running the Walsh linkage and breaking the lower mount...IMO using any other linkage changes the leverage ratio on this bracket but not a problem with the stock setup...

I talked to a Suzuki tech today. He has heard nothing of any frame problems. He said that the tranny noise is after the r has been ridden moderately hard for around 20 minutes. The weird thing is that if you stop the quad and start out in first the noise goes away. He says that it sounds like a lack of oil noise in between the gears. He said it probally won't be a problem, run a semi-synthetic oil. If there are serious issues Suzuki is aware of the problem an will make good on it.

the only problem i heardthat had anything to do with the frame was that the welds looks a bit crappy. but otherwise heard the machine was hey-ok

U also have to consider how well do some owners treat their quads and if they check anything. Or if they crashed and bent the frame.

Nice picture, that LTR needed a hand gettin off the track LOL. No adjustment is gonna help you with that. You will have to fabricate some gussets and weld them to the linkage tabs and the frame and then repaint it or have the whole frame powdercoated.
