Hey all,new user here in need of suggestions. I am in the market for a fun quad. After riding my LT250 utility for 10 years i have been looking for somthing new. This quad looks awsome and the reviews i've read on it are great so far. My question is, i dont race but want something a little better than stock for riding in the beach dunes, and local offroad park. I would put paddles on for the sand and leave it stock for the offroad. Would the LTR be o.k. for the dunes or am i better off with th Z400. I really like the wider, lower profile of the LTR and dont mind spending a little extra for the better parts that come with the LTR. Will this quad serve me well for the beach or should i be considering something else since its more of a race quad? I am 5'6" and 41 years old if this helps. Thanks Lou

Spend the extra $$ and get the Caddy(LTR). It will be quicker and not beat you up nearly as much as the Z's suspension will. The Z is a trail bike and no matter what it will feel that way. For the open sand beaches, no doubt, the Z is out!

EDIT: I fully pimped a kfx one time and still like the LTR better all the way around(the motor is built too, very quick bike).......

I agree with IRISH,You would be very happy with a Z400/ can't beat reverse for trail riding! And some mods if you have the time and $$ to spend.
I also agree with Clone if your looking for a better suspension and faster Quad. :)
Take your time and evaluate both the Z400 and LTR450,It depends on your riding style and ability and your riding areas.I have never ridden the LTR and cannot give you an evaluation from my point of view, As I ride a KFX 400! I do know that as an old fart at the age of 45 that I love my KFX as far as comfort/seat,reverse,and the few mods I have. :D

I have 2 of the KFX and 1 LTZ and 1 LTR...and I can tell you that HANDS DOWN the LTR is much easier to ride. Your gonna be money ahead just on the suspension alone. I made the mistake of letting my kids ride my LTR the last time out and they ALL want to trade in their bikes and get the LTR. About the only thing they like better on the Z & KFX is the reverse ability. I have to agree that reverse is a nice feature BUT...since I own both you can take it from me...the LTR is the way to go :D

Love my Z but cant wait to sell it to get an LTR. If you have experience riding and arent going out on trails too much then the LTR has got to be the way to go. Either way you go, you will be very happy with both. I take my Z out to Glamis all the time and absolutely love it. With a little work you can make the Z almost as nice as the jazzy new LTR.

I agree with wt180. I also have both and the ltr gives you a lot more confidence you can anything with it. But if your not looking to the first one to the top of the dune or finish line and just want to be able to keep up with most people then the Z would be good IMO. But after getting my ltr i will never go back.

Unfortunately you're correct.....but that's all about to change!!! lol I may have it traded....it won't be for an LTR but it will be fast. C-Dale, it has all updates, 468 HDC motor with a WWE port job. It's scares the shit outta me as far as maintenence and parts but good god.....it's a rocket!
