What will the weather be like and will anyone be out there? I know it will be hot and humid but how bad? I will be in Edmond,OK visiting family and want to take a few days to go to LS and ride. Would also like to meet up with some of the OK people from the board to ride with if anyone will be out there.

its going to be to damn hot in july.you can't have any fun when its to hot ,triple digits out on the sand.if you are going to go ride at little sahara in july ,go ride late in the evening or early in the morning.

July weather is normally very warm...we made a trip last year and it was upper 80's to low 90's and very nice thanks to a cool front but you should expect mid-upper 90's.

Good riding in the morning till about noon...then back out again at 7 pm and you will be fine.

I'm not real worried about the temp being high, I can take that. It's a matter of the humidty, thats what seems to suck the life outta ya. But I will deffinatly post the dates I will be there. Hope we can meet up.

Also dose anyone know a good place to rent a quad? I want to rent a 400EX or something similar for my dad to ride.

I have no idea where you can rent a quad at...no where at LS I know of.

If, and I say IF, we can hook up, we have a KFX700 your dad could ride...it is my wife's old ride.
Custom Axis suspension, billet overdrive clutch, O/B spring, Dyna ignition, flex bars, AC pro pegs, Muzzy exhaust, etc...

Easy to ride as it is an automatic....long and wide too!

Thanks wht180 that would be great. it will probably be the 2nd and 3rd or the 5th and 6th. My aunt is having a big party for the 4th so I need to be in Edmond that day. Once I finalize my plans I'll let you know.

I have never been duning, I just made reservations with a couple friends for September (a long ways off but we are waiting on an ACL to heal).

If you've never been I'm sure LS is a good place to get used to the sand. Yea waiting to heal sucks, I had 2 tendons and 1 ligimant in my ankle repaired 2yrs ago.


I talked to my dad today and he mad room resevations in wynoka for the 5th and 6th. so we will be there mid day on the 5th and leave mid day on the 7th. If any of you can make it that would be great if not I understand.

Also wht180 my dad says we don't go through Norman on the way from Edmond we go the Kingfisher.

Plans have change a little. Days are the same but we will be bringing a campertrailer. So my next question is where are some good camp sites that have hookups?

Stop by and say Hi if your there. Look for my Black Tundra with Nevada Voulenteer Firefighter plates oin it. Or the bike, White no stickers black FUEL bumper and HMF pipe and hopefully paddles if the get here in time. Hope to see ya there.

North camp / Cowboy camp is probably the nicest. Basicly you'll drive right past the park gates about 2miles up the road there will be a gas station on your left. You'll enter on the road to the left. Follow it around to the left. It ends in North camp. Once in North camp you'll see another road heading up a small hill to the left. The nice pull through spots are back there.

We'll be heading out either Thursday or Friday night.

There are no sites with "full hookups". But there are quite a few with water and electric. Worse come to worst, we can probably split a site if I get a big one in cowboy camp since my trailer isn't that big.

Thanks for the info. As long as we get one with electic to run the AC were good. The trailers a 24ft if we can split one that fine by me. If not we'll see about getting a space next to you.

Sounds good, when we go up Wed we'll look for a big spot. It will be Me,GF,Dad, and our dog, my Grandad my come up for part of the day one day.

You haven't heard of any rental places have you? My dad has been makin calls for a couple of weeks and hasen't found anything. We would like to get a 400 and a rhino mabey.

I won't be able to stay till the 5th anymore..... the kids are already pissed about having to spend the whole weekend with me and they all talked me into coming home the night of the 4th.

We're heading up this Friday after work. I'll probably be taking the trailer up there on thursday evening. And I don't know of any rentals.

P.S. You should have no problem getting a nice spot to camp if you come up on Wednesday.
