This is from a thread I started on planet sand. If everything goes well at this one, we'll try it again in Sept.

Lets get head count on for the 19th.

We've got a generator, power cords, lights, and some caution tape coming out to try and keep things safe. I'm also going to get my truck out there to drag the track to smooth it out as much as possible.

Not sure if they'll even let us in the gates with all the gear.... but even if not. Me and a few of my buddies are hooking up with other Planet Sand members for some night time drags.

I'll be there to drag with or without extra lighting. Its a lil too late to get any organised racing setup. So maybe we can get some "skins" races or even just some grudge matching.

If we get a decent turnout, then maybe we can get something more solid setup next month for Sand Fest. This would be a good way to test things out for a night drags on the dunes.

There will be no fees for racing, we just ask that you bring a buck or two to help with generator fuel cost.

Well we'll be missing you that weekend.

If all goes well we'll be sure to bring all the equipment on the weekend of that everyone else is going out.

Its this coming weekend. I've got the trailer ready.... bringing a copy of blue colar comedy tour

Gonna pick up some zuk glue to do/check my valve shims. Also gonna get some 110 for the weekend. I've also got Robs 6 paddle extremes ready for the testing (thanks Rob)

No problem brother!!! Make sure you do a little testing with them, I find it hard to keep the front end down with those tires...interesting to see how they compare to your Haulers.

OKC, you need to get a helmet cam and mount it on the back of your helmet looking back at Rich! LOL! Just kidding Rich, I have said it many times on here before YOU are a much better racer then I am without a doubt! :scoot:

When is Fall Break for you all? Ours is October 19-20 and we are thinking going out October 18-22? Not sure my old body can handle that many days riding though ointlaugh:

I have not done any research on helmet cams...but pm a guy on trx450r.org with the username 86atc250r; his name is Gabe and he is very knowlegable.

Fall Break as in our kids get out of school for 2 days in October...

Zip on pass us older guys...hmm, I have been looking for somone to go on what I call a "speed put" through the dunes...kind of an aggressive follow the leader. Of course I am only good for about a mile now but I am sure I can give you a small adrenalin burst in that mile!!! :scoot: Do you have one of those Garmin Rhino GPS units? It would make it easier for me to come back and find you! LOL! Ahh, back in the good old days...

We've got fall break the same weekend beginning on the 19th.... so we are definately a GO.

GTG = get to gether aka non-official race aka non-organized racing....

This weekend will be like when we have car GTG's.... everyone meet up,..... hang out, shoot the breeze, and challenge some folks to races for skins or just for fun on a makeshift track. Oh and it will all be caught on tape.....

Yeah I'm curious to see how they hook up. On the haulers I found that leaving my butt in the middle of the seat and just leaning foward is the ticket on a high rev launch. Too far foward and they just spin, too far back and its a 12 o'clock launch. But the only way to keep up with them 10 paddle guys is to get the jump off the line.... aka the holeshot.

I'll be pulling my bike out of the trailer tomorrow night and pulling the haulers to weigh the difference on a scale. We've got some high end gram scales at work so I might even take one of each if they'll let me weigh them there. But with the 7" rim, the roll out is definately going to be taller. how much though, I'm not sure.... I'll bust out the measuring tape for that.

Check out planet sand. there are quite a few more jumping in at the last minute. Its gonna be crazy.

With all the rain and wind that we've had..... traction is going to be really good.
