Although i havent measured any lengths yet, the O.D.'s of the stepped header is the following:

Initial head O.D. is 1.5" (rounded)

2nd step is 1.75"

3rd step is a massive 2.25"

Silencer is held into the mid section tail piece by two springs. Id like to see a thicker flange to bolt the thing onto the engine but i suppose it'll do. The silencer has some weight to it but has very nice welds and is overall a good quality piece. The billet end cap is pretty sweet looking ans it bolts and unbolts on. Heres some pics.....

Thanks for posting pictures for discussion Gary! Good quality pics!

Just a few initial thoughts.....

I like the looks of it. Good looking welds. The billet endcap piece looks nice. Overall looks gets an A. But, doesn't it seem that they took a long time before they decided to add any step ups? It is just before the mid-pipe that they make a step-up, then they made a huge step just after the joint. Kind of has a cheesy slip-on look in that area where they are trying to quickly get the header pipe up to size. Don't take that harshly, but it does seem that way, yes?

I have to agree with you Clone on this for sure. Does seem late in the headpipe for a step, at least later then what we're used to seeing anyway. Thing about LRD, at least the way i remember them as a company, they shoot for a broad power range. They make not make the most power but its usually strong and broad. That may play a part in the way they made the headpipe. You would hope they R&D the pipe in many different configuration and come up with the overall best design. We'll see how it runs but im really looking foward to a somewhat quiet version of a full pipe, hopefully this will do

It really looks like the bike should be built by next weekend so i will be dynoing with Mobile Dyno. If anyone wants to compare a pipe of theirs i can run it while im at the dyno and we can compare results. Its going to take some time just to dial it in im sure.

I picked mine up right at the factory. They did say they redesigned the headpipe because the first one they designed wasn't producing the HP results they wanted. I know the company is big about low and mid range when they build race motors, they say the first 30 feet are the most important in a race.

Gary,

I like the look of the pipe. To me it looks like they were trying to add more low end grunt with the way header is designed. I can't wait to see the dyno sheets and the butt dyno report. Nice job...
