OK guys...I went and found the fake stainless fittings so you can replace your fuel line if you want to. Here's what they look like... :D

And here's a side view of the fitting so you can see the 3/8" hose clamp built into the fitting

The brand is "Spectre" and the kit is Z9490

Hope this helps :p

PS...You can get just the fittings on summitracing.com

I did the same thing to mine and it turned out awesome. I also put in a clear in line fuel filter that matches the fittings. I will try to post some pics later.

That kit is just cover. It goes over the stock line. Just for looks. Even if it was a true steel braided line it would not benefit in any performance gains in this application, but looks BITCHIN. Steel Braided lines will improve braking......actual steelbraided lines not steel braided covers. I will be doing the Junkie Trix ....... if i ever get my bike back?

Elfro, yes your braking will improve with stainless steel lines. I'm not sure how much in a quad. I know in cars it helps reduce fade & makes the braking feedback more constant because the lines do not swell (like you pointed out). Be that as it may, I have seen stainless kits on ebay already so you might hunt some down and tell us what you think...Or I can do it... :p

Braided lines/ or covers are for those that don't ride in tons of mud! Did that on my old 250r and looked great untill the first ride then looked dirty from there on out... never came clean looked stained but it was stainless steel...lol looks sweet though! and probablly would stay nice in sand I guess?

Braided brake lines do but not hose braiding cover kits for cars which I think that is and is what I used on my 250r's fuel line. They look sweet though regaurdless!
