Unless you are willing to eliminate your airbox and go with a larger filter don't waste your money. Several of us have tried them and were not happy with them (absolutely no gain in HP). I tried the Trinity myself and was dissappointed.

I am waiting for the FUELATV airbox eliminator which should add about 3hp and it has a much larger filter than the other aftermarket kits. You'll have to get rid of your airbox to run it though which isn't a problem for me.

Scott I will give you a damn good deal on mine once I get my fuel intake if your still interested in purchasing one. I don't ever ride anywhere but the dunes so I don't see much of a need for my airbox.
If you want to we can just trade boxes. I'll take your stock box, with a little money and you take my modified box with the intake and K&N.

I have the Trinity and love it. If you go as far as completely removing the air box, let me tell ya a little story. 2 weeks ago I was in the Ridgecrest Gran Prix, some had their box all there, some had just holes punched into it, some had it completely gone. Now right smack dab in front of the grand stand was a 70 long, 2 feet deep water/mud hole one had to traverse. The funny thing was, the peeps with no box sucked water into the motor right in deepest part of the pit, people like me who had several holes in their box made it about 7/8th of the way through before flooding the motor, and the peeps with full air box, well they ran right on through the pit. This is how I ended up with a 2nd place instead of a 1st place, I watched a freakin Honda blow right by me as I was cranking the LTR back up. Here are some pix of the mud.

If you anticipate any kind of water in your future, I would not remove your airbox, and upgrade your air filter over the stocker. Oh Yeah, my K&N did keep the intake almost spotless inside the runner, although there was some water seepage.

Here is the bottom line ........ adding a Trinity or Pro design intake will not add any HP. It will add a clamping surface for the filter and for that reason alone i like those intakes. To get more HP you will need to basically remove all of the air box. Drilling a few holes in it will not do much if anything. So if you are ridding in conditions like the above LEAVE YOUR AIR BOX ON. The 1 HP you will gain by removing the air box is not worth it.

the positive thing about the intake kits are they are easy to clean and to put back on. plus they make a great seal, so you dont have to worry about dust coming in through the seal on the stock foam filter to the airbox. also the k&n type filters seem to last forever, so you dont have to replace them.

Yea that is going over well...

"Honey watch our daughter please, yes I know I haven't seen you in 8 months but I have A arms, shocks, intakes, and power commanders to install OH MY!"

Not to mention the sound system for my 4Runner I bought before I GOT deployed.

OH AND... Pro Armor Nerfs, Bumper, Junkie Raditor Shrouds, Junkie Gas Cap... ITP Wheels and Tires... hand guards, 15t sprocket......... and the Cernics graphics kit if I get my new seat... if not it will wait and I'll sport the K&K a little longer.

I'm going to be crunched for time though. Want to head to Prarie City to get some test rides in then going Duning ALOT in December. Probably a total of 10 days spread out over the month. Then back to real life and work.
