Thats a great idea! I never used to talk but now sending IM's to people with the same interests as me would be cool.

We have discussed this before.... the biggest downside is no record of the conversation.
Which is one thing that makes "posting" so cool. There is an area in your profile where you can enter your email and IM info --- or you could add it to your sig. even -----

Indeed...if you don't happen to be in the chat room 24/7 you're going to miss out on some good information. Would be good for people in urgent need of quick info, but it's fun to watch situations progress on the boards. Most of us have instant messenger of some form - more people just need to utilize this

Not totally shutting you down here, because it's not my decision - but, more or less there are reasons why we don't have one yet. Never hurts to throw an idea out there
