You'd better hold on to it because I just called them. You have to ask for the right person because this individual told me that who ever told you that was WRONG and that would be really stuped for them to do that.

I spoke with Demond in Technical Support.

First off the two maps that are built into the LTR are the stock map and a Motocross map. When you plug in the CRBM it activates the motorcross map. Now when you hook up the PIM with the Yoshi it puts in an even more aggressive map for both the spark arrestor setup as well as the one without the spark arrestor. So the maps are different with the PIM than with just the CRBM. As to what the two base maps are (data or MAP wise) that are in the stock LTR he can't answer that and doesn't see them getting the info any time soon. By programming through the PIM you are overwriting the two base maps that are already in the bike.

As far as being able to use their software and hooking up your laptop and programming the ECU through the PIM he said that's not possible and they are not working on any such program. I still believe this can be hacked by the right person. I may know that person and may have him try it.

As to the db level of the Yoshi it's 92-96 with the spark arrestor and 96-105 without it.

I can confirm that the pim DOES work better than the CB... MUCH better! I am running the full Yoshi with no spark arrestor and no air box lid. I pulled the CB and installed the PIM Saturday at Pismo. This after a full day there running with the cherry bomb and there seemed to be a big difference. The bike pulled harder and throttle response was much, much better! It sounded much more crisp. Front wheels came up off the ground with much more ease.

I just got a pro flow intake with a K& N filter and will install that before or during my next trip... When ever that will be..

I cant wait to see other peoples ride report after installation becuase it was so noticable that I thought I must be crazy but I know I am not. Early Saturday before I put the PIM in, I was actually feeling like the bike was not working as well as it had when I was a Dumont Dunes a month or so ago..Either that or I was already too comfortable on the bike. I no longer felt that way after I installed the PIM.. :D :D

So if you already sold it, congrats to the new owner. I suspect you will be as surprised as I was!

I might just have to order the FIMAK to see what other surprises are in order.

My .02 cents!

I'll 2nd that!

I noticed a stronger hit throughout the RPM range after removing the CRBM and installing the PIM.

Oh yeah night and day difference with the PIM. Pulls much harder in the mid rpm range. I would say maybe 2-3 hp difference plus a more crisp throttle response. Trust me it is well worth it if you do any serious racing.

maybe i am confused but isnt the cb supposed to work along side of the pim and if it is why is everyone removing it? on yoshis web site they list "the ems combo kit" which includes the fimak, pim, and the cb. why would they sell it in the kit if you dont need it too. please explain

Not sure why they are selling it like that, but you definantly don't need the cb with the pim. They plug into the same port, and it tells you to uninstall the cb before starting install on the PIM.
