Heres the deal, everyone wants to know about I-shock rebuilds im here to tell you.

First off, there customer service is plain AWESOME. I called them to get the info and RA # so i can send them in. I asked Travis if i could get some stickers, he said sure. He sent me 50 stickers, they have 6 different sticker designs and I got all of them.

First, I got them set up for 160lbs expert/pro MX. My kfx400 race bike has elka longtravel front and rear so I wanted a cheaper way so i decided to send them for a rebuild. It took 2 weeks to receive them. I live in New Mexico and there in California so that helped with the quick delivery.

I recieved the shocks and they were typical simple to install. The front preload was alot though, like twice the amount of threads than when they come stock, so i was like man I hope there not stiff. The rear preload was all the way backed out. first impression after install on the fronts were, WOW! They were soft. The rear was also, WOW! My fronts came with the compression and rebound turned all the way out, which makes it soft and fast. The rear came all the way out on compression high/low and the rebound 10 clicks in from all the way out. So I just wanted to see how it reacts turning the compression in while pushing on the bumper and grab bar, NO Difference? Not sure why, but I just put it back to way they came.

Ride test. We built a mx track on our Base Holloman AFB, NM. Has all types of jumps, whoops and rythms. Perfect test time, since our mx session starts in Sept. Jumped on and just riding around was soft and smooth. Couldnt believe it. You guys know how stiff the fronts are just riding around, its completely gone. Rear just as soft. I first wanted to test on the whoops which consist of about 15 in a row. THE BIKE TRACKED STRAIGHT AND SMOOTH THROUGH EVERY SINGLE WHOOP. I couldnt believe it. Very plush through them. Now the jumps. They have the travel of my long travel race bike. When landing the shocks are very plush and smooth through the whole travel. I cant believe it, i left the settings the way they sent them to me. This put a smile on my FACE big time. My wife could tell the difference by just watching me while i was riding that the bike handled different.

For anyone wanting to know, now you do! I-shock rebuilds are a defenite MUST! and is definetely cheaper alternative than aftermarket shocks. Dont get me wrong there is a little difference in the plushness between my elkas and the I-schock rebuild, but that contributes to multiple spring setups on my elkas. If you decide to get it done, which i recommend, you will be happy and glad you spent the $300 it costs which included shipping and receive awesome customer service. I asked if they gave Military discount and he said I will ship them back to you for free. If anyone has anymore ?s about it just PM and i will defenitely answer.

I think I am gonna do the I-shock rebuild over winter since I'm gonna stick with B class next season....I'll go with long travel if I ever get fast enough for A class... Great write-up though, I heard very good things about the stockers when they are re-worked.

Well i rode one with the Shock rebuild and it felt like it would be a awesome trail quad since it soaked every little bump. But!!!! I don't think it will work well for the big jumps or rough breaking bumps. I could easily push the front end down and that might not be good if i need it stiff.

BLEH! Still don't know what to do with my rear... Ishock rebuild, TCS rebuild, or TCS with resevoir... :( Junkie buy these and tell me what to do!

Nice write up, always good to hear about good customer service. We usually only hear about bad stuff.

yeah i did bottom out but it was really harsh at the bottom of the stroke. the i-shock i bottom out once in a while but its so soft and smooth. im sure it would be a little better with different springs but its great for the money. im glad i did it.
